An Amish boy and his father were in a mall. They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and then slide back together again.

The boy asked, "What is this Father?"

The father (never having seen an elevator) responded, "Son, I have never seen anything like this in my life, I don't know what it is."

While the boy and his father were watching with amazement, a fat, old lady in a wheel chair moved up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room.

The walls closed and the boy and his father watched the small circular numbers above the walls light up sequentially. They continued to watch until it reached the last number and then the numbers began to light in the reverse order.

Finally the walls opened up again and a gorgeous 24-year-old blonde stepped out.

The father said quietly to his son....."Go get your mother."

Actually THE FOLLOWING IS TRUE!
Here south of where I live the amish teenagers and early twenties are obnoxious!
They put 4 to 6 foot high speakers on their buggies....get drunk and or stoned both...pile into the buggy..let the horse do the driving...blasting out gangsta rap and other high bass crap really loud....throw beer bottles at people driving by...have wild parties in Yankee farmers fields...get crazy..set feild and forests on fire....change into Yankee clothes....go to the bars...get trashed...cause wrecks with cars and horse and buggy....
Have barns with Television and satellite dishes...drive tractors and ATVs cause they are not allowed to have cars. Use cell phones because its ok because it runs on batteries....run the washer and dryer and TV on gas powered electric generators because.."thats not really" electricity!
OK...not all are like that...but alot are!
So don't tell me about the quaint little Amish folk! And dirty mouths? Amish men(and some women!) are the foulest cussers I have ever heard!

I have a hard time not thinking about the movie King Pin when thinking about the Amish. Such a funny movie.

Actually I saw alot of relevance there!
Crazy movie!

But a movie I realy loved that shows the culture clash between the new and old ways and our modern times..crimes too...
Was the movie with Harrison Ford as "John Book".....
The movie was "Witness"...very good movie and the romance between John and the Amish girl played by Kelly "M"? was lovely and heartrending! The little boy...played by young Lucas Haas was a little sweetie!
