Cologne shopping...what a terrible idea. If you let the woman help you, how do you know what her motives are? Do they pitch the latest and greatest? The most popular? Ones based on your appearance? The ones on promo? So this woman helped me, and we pretty quickly found one I like. Here is another big question mark: do you buy cologne you like, or should you really get a female perspective? What man really knows what women like in a cologne unless the woman buys it? So I ended up getting this one called Mont Blanc Individuel in a gift package that includes after shave as well. I'm so confident in the purchase I left it in it's packaging in the car. Smelling it on my skin now, it still smells good to me. On my right wrist lingers the scent of Burberry Brit, another yummy cologne. That one just seems a little too strong, and classic. It somehow reminds me of old people (men and women), which doesn't seem terrible for a Cap, but still not what I want at the moment. Anyway, anyone have an opinion on Mont Blanc Individuel? What's your favorite men's cologne? IP: Logged |

Davidoff Coolwater scent is said to be very popular with the ladies and not too bad for the man using it either. I have not tried that too much though, just borrow it from my brother sometimes. For after shave, Old Spice rules. Mont Blanc? Never tried that.Right now, I avoid colognes because herbal aroma therapy products smell so much better and just use a strong deo as back up.

I'm not a huge fan. Please don't wear Coolwater. Completely uninspired and too old. Not a bad smell, to be honest, just booooring. Remember Polo in the 80's? That's Coolwater in the 90's. That and Acqua di Gio. *shivers*I see what you mean about the Brit. Did you try Burberry Touch? How about Chanel Egoiste? The original one. Not that new platinum foolishness. Givenchy Pi? Gendarme? Cartier Pasha? Anything by Creed? Rochas Man? Bulgaria Acqua Por Homme? Any Hermes? i Profumi di Firenze Spezie de Medici? Sorry. I can't stop myself when I start talking about fragrance. Is this for the cuddle party? IP: Logged |

Thanks for your reply TINK. It did occur to me that I should be sweet smelling for the party, but no, the host said not to, and that's cool. I've got good smelling soap too. Also, no, the woman didn't have me sample Burberry Touch, or any of the others. Honestly we probably only checked out 5 or 6. Her focus seemed to be on the gift packages, which makes sense to some degree. I take it you haven't had the oportunity to smell this one? IP: Logged |

I'm not really into wearing cologne or whatever. Haha, I just wear deodorant and make sure to shower and wash my hair at least once a day.IP: Logged |

I prefer blending essential oils....sandlewood, patchouli and a dash of ylang ylang are wonderfully exotic for men or women.....they are all aphrodisiacs too.....try em AG....you may get jumped on.... xxx IP: Logged |

If its like burberry's then it's prob.just fine. I think if you like it thats good too but trust a woman's opinion. They are good at breaking down the detail of scent. I don't know the one you got but Im sure its fine. IP: Logged |

hey AG i actually dont like montblac much and yes im v picky about the cologne my guy will wear becoz for one, i am allergic to hugo boss! i REALLY love cartier's eau de cartier, the latest one, not the older one. its AWESOME. and Salvatore ferragamo's original mens fragrance is awesome too....the leo/aqua i was with for four years used to use the salvatore and it was breathtaking. even tho he was a jerk but still that made him physically appealing altho he was not a looker. still whenever i smell salvatore ferragamo i stop in my tracks like in a brain freeze. it is such a powerful scent--not strong, but powerful in the effect it has on me. 5 or 6?! Gift packs??!! What's going on over there???!! No no no. First off ... try to stay away from run of the mill Department stores. There's nothing worse than smelling like everyone else on the block. At the very least you must have a Sephora in San Francisco, no? How about a Barneys? There are a lot of online sites that sell European fragrances unavailable (or very hard to come by) in the US. Most offer samples - for a fee, of course. Second ... you need to train your nose. Learn to sniff out the difference between good quality and bad. Third ... figure out who you are and what you want to present.Your host is correct. In such tight quarters, snuggling with new people, you don't want to overpower anyone. Sue is right about the essential oils, I think. Done properly they can be very nice. It takes a bit of experimenting. Careful with patchouli - it's a love it or hate it thing. Also, it makes some people sneeze. I'll add a thumbs up for SG's Ferragamo. Yes, I've smelled Mont Blanc. I've smelled damn near everything. "I'm not a huge fan" *sigh* If Oxychick were here she'd have a few good recommendations. She too is a card carrying member of the product junkie club.

I bought Intuition by Estee Lauder for my Cappie. Smells really good. Here's the cheesy description for ya: Product Details: The nature of man. This magnetic fragrance has a dynamic, masculine clarity blended with a modern sense of nature. It's ultra sensual--clear, woodsy, more vibrant than a traditional cologne. Warm, natural and sexy. Fragrance Type: Solar Oriental Top Notes: Bright and vibrant, with Sage Absolute, crisp Cucumber, Nutmeg and Cardamom Middle Notes: Woodsy warmth with Patchouli and natural Cedarwood Base Notes: Reveals the rich sensuality of Amber __________________________________________ Scorpio sun, venus, mars, mercury and uranus Libra moon, pluto and asc.
