Loved it!Clever, beautifully acted, intelligent...loved it. But I've been warned to keep my hands off Viggo. ------------------ The less I seek my source for some definitive, the closer I am to fine. -Indigo Girls IP: Logged |

Like, a date with you and your hubby? Hmmm, I wouldn't call it a 'chick flick,' proxie. It has some of the hottest on-screen sex scenes in an R rated movie I've ever seen. Doesn't hurt that those scenes feature Viggo.
So if the woman going is a prude about sex or violence, I'd say no. But if both enjoy a quality movie that is smart, funny, has a twist or two and makes you think...then this is a brilliant choice. A great conversation starter afterwards over coffee or beer.

Yeppers We were up visiting fam recently, and Jase's dad (have I mentioned that I love Jase's dad) handed him some money and said that he could only use it on taking me on a date. We're going to be cliche (dinner and a movie), but a cliche night of acting like grown-ups (rather than the grown-ups) is heaven-sent when you have an 18-month-old. (And we're in rural Southern Alabama - not exactly the best place to find neat bands playing in tucked-away joints...unless you like strip clubs.) A little graphic sex and violence shouldn't be a problem, especially when it's in the interests of a great story well told. Besides, it's difficult to be prudish around someone who's watched ya give birth. I'll take your endorsement IP: Logged |

Have a wonderful time on your date, Prox!I think you'll like the movie. But if you don't, then I apologize in advance. And when I said funny, well, I meant that there are moments that will make you laugh, and at surprising times. It's obviously not a comedy. Of course I'll want to hear all about your grown up date. I'm still kinda fishing, zen (thinking about it, I'll probably like A History of Violence; Jase probably won't on a date) - what would you recommend out of this line-up?A Theatre Elizabethtown (PG-13) 7:00. <--Husband probably won't watch In Her Shoes (PG-13) 7:00. <--Husband probably won't watch...might get him to, though...he likes My Big, Fat Greek Wedding Some Theatre Legend of Zorro (PG) 7:00, 9:30. Another Theatre Doom (R) 7:00, 9:15. Saw 2 (R) 7:15, 9:15. A History of Violence (R) 7:15, 9:15. Those're the only places close - the next closest theatre's 40 minutes away. When you talk about babysitting expenses, the time'd make those cost prohibitive.
