You are a GRAMMAR GOD!

lmao ( English was my worst subject at school )

Congratulations! If your mission in life is not already to preserve the English tongue, it should be. You can smell a grammatical inaccuracy from fifty yards. Your speech is revered by the underlings, though some may blaspheme and call you a snob. They're just jealous. Go out there and change the world

I got this from a friend, and considering my result, I’m questioning it’s accuracy!

You are a MASTER of the English language!

Huzzah. While your English is not exactly perfect, you are still more grammatically correct than just about every American. Others admire the way you speak and could learn a lot from listening to you. Still, there is always room for improvement...

Water Nymph, before I take the test, I have to point something out that I hope you will take in good fun.

quote:
and considering my result, I’m questioning it’s accuracy

"it's accuracy" should actually be "its accuracy."

"it's" with the apostrophe means "it is."

Now let my smart-@ss go take the test.

You are a MASTER of the English language!

Or so they say. I'm glad they also say this still means I'm far from perfect. But I did love all aspects of English in school and college.

Fun test, thanks!

Hmmm, well I took it once and got "average" and then went back and correct only one answer, and then got "Grammar God" - go figure.

Actually I know grammar well, and I know what mistake I make often (like the run-on sentence above - I've read way too much Proust and Hemingway ). I just don't bother so much, unless it's for a grade, going to my boss or going an editor.

Woohoo! I'm a Grammar God! Then, did I expect anything less?

Think about it though- it says that's the most frequent result of test takers, but what kind of people are going to be taking this test???! Seriously, you're only going to take it if you're fairly confident about your English skills. Then, does it come as a suprise that the lowest possible mark was also a highly frequent result? Clearly, these people are the true geniuses, (or should that be 'genii'?) as they have obviously realised this before taking the test and have therefore deliberately answered all the questions wrong as an ironic mockery of the test itself, and perhaps as a subversive way of infact proving their far superior grammatical knowledge by doing so. I mean, how could you answer all the questions wrong unless you knew what the correct answers were?

Hee, I seem to be able to answer questions wrong without knowing the right answer *all the time!!* I always knew I was special!!

But, seriously, Mutable - how can you be a grammar god when you aren't sure what the plural of genius is??!! And here I was just about to sacrifice a goat to you, too. I feel so disillusioned.

Don't feel bad, Future! It *was* a hard test, or I thought so at least.

Anyway, since I'm a Master, I could consent to be your sensei, if you like.

Ahhh Johnny!
I was merely being a product of my own speculation. Obviously I know what the plural of genius is, but I was making a joke

So you *do* know what the plural of genius is? Wow! You really are a grammar god! Is it geniuses or genii? Or something else?

Actually, the plural of genius can be either geniuses or genii. It depends on what kind of genius you are referring to.

In most cases, 'geniuses' is the average plural, meaning more than one really smart person. Genius in its other meaning is a type of spirit guide, often in Roman mythology and its plural is 'Genii'.
