well i'm only 19, but it seems that a lot of people i know have a goal in sight for the future. i haven't even really given a lot of thought to college, but i hate working in these dead-end jobs, one right after the other.

i will start a job (say at a restaurant, or fast-food joint) and it will go well for the first couple of weeks, but then i get bored with it and start calling in sick or i just stop showing up. the one i am in now, i don't get a lot of sleep. i have to be at my bus stop around 4:30 am now, just to get there, i work for 12 hours: lifting, walking (a lot of it) and i come home completely drained, only to have to go to bed and do the same thing over the next day. the only reason i stay is because it's OK money. if i call in, i feel guilty, or lazy. i'm trying to save up $ because I am getting a place with my bf, but this temp job ends the 23rd of dec.

i definitely want to go to a jc for right now, but have no idea what i want to do. i'm not really good at anything.

about the job thing, what can i do to motivate myself, other than receiving a paycheck lol

Get further into your chart. There's a lot of direction that you can find in there.

Well Bluemoon, I don't have a great deal of interests. I like movies, music, I have a knack for pop culture. I like to sleep, but I don't think there's a job for that! I'm terrible with kids. I've noticed that most of my jobs have been very physical (well, the ones I really didn't/don't like anyway.) A lot of standing, walking, lifting. Perhaps that's what I don't like about them. I've read that Virgos aren't well suited for physical-type jobs. The job that I like the most, wasn't a real-job (I got payed and everything, but it was a youth program so they were fairly lenient) but I worked as an assistant web-designer. I took photos, and helped build a page for the local humane society. There was also light office work which I didn't mind and I got to be on a computer all day And I got to sit, no standing for me

AG, you mean look at my chart like my midheaven and stuff? My midheaven is in Gemini. I took a career interest inventory a few years ago as we were required to do, and it said I would be best suited for a career in (what else?) communications. And aptitude tests, and best subjects in school for me point to grammer, English, stuff like that. My absolute worst subject was math, which I failed on a few occasions.

Congrats.

Yeah, Midheaven and stuff like that. Virgo/Gemini certainly does sound like a communications focus, but also, you'd be very well suited to research. Librarian comes to mind.

However, if you like creative arts, maybe pursue web design or graphic design, photography, etc. What about journalism? Maybe you could write for Rollng Stone.

Now that's wishful thinkin AG! I dunno, I've just never done anything important like that in my life, and I probably never will. Librarian...maybe.

ah well dorkus, i have been into that situation but may be the only difference between us was , i had family responsibilities and the other important thing was , i always saw myself destined for something big , real big .
i started working at around eighteen .thats not the normal age , when we start our lives , life normally starts (responsbility wise)around twenty five ,here.

can't really answer your question . i'll just put my experience , i always bottled up my anger for working at these non startegic positions and i always was practiacl enough to convince myself that these were just stepping stones to my bigger dreams .i am more so in your position today even but i keep my self busy and positive by thinking of my business .

may be the trick is to know , how u like yourself to be known to the people around , may be that might motivate u . it did so in my case.

btw,i dont why but i have always felt that virgos are always looking for the short cuts though they are known to be pretty systematic workers . this isn't for u but just a generalised concept.

I read somewhere that Gem midheaven changes careers frequently? Does this also just apply to regular jobs do you think? Cos I notice I change around a lot because I get bored with the same people, environments, situations etc Or perhaps I just haven't found anything that's suited me. Of course, I have a wealth of mutable planets in chart and mutable t-square I think...

Well, now I'm just ranting...got sent home today because of illness and the way they run things, I will probably get penalized just for following safety rules *sighs* A bit worried about my fiancial situation too. I try and save but I have never been good at it. I am one of those "spend it while you got it" people. Is this a Venus in 2nd thing, or hard aspects involving Venus causing this? I kind of feel guilty when I have no money left and then can't even remember what I spent it on! It's no use having a bank acount because that's always overdrawn

Well on a good note, I have possible job interview which is always a good thing, new opportunities...wish me luck

Good luck!

I have Gem ascendant, and I change jobs rather frequently too. Made me really insecure being a Capricorn and all. Thankfully, astrology let me in on the multiple facets of my personality, and how they all desire expression. Hopefully, the next 20 years will see some balance come to my career and income.

Hi, Dorkus - I know *exactly* what you mean. I'm about your age, going to college, and I also have absolutely no idea what I want to do with my life. If you ask me, all the people you know who have goals for the future are almost surely faking it! And if they're not, they're probably wrong about what they think they want. I heard a quote onetime about how you shouldn't have any idea what to do with your life until your at least 20 something, and I think whoever said it was probably right on.

But yeah, I don't really have any advice for you. Just wanted to commiserate. But I bet AG is right about looking into your chart, and you seem to know a ton about Astrology, so, there ya' go.

And by the way, good luck on your interview!

Editted: Hey, I just thought of that Jesus quote - I'm not terribly religious, but I thought this sort of applied. It goes:

"Have no thought for the morrow."

Definetly some good esoteric meaning there, I'd say. Maybe something like transcending the material world, realizing the power of the quantum mind. You are the god(dess) of your own perception, which is what makes the Universe!

i disagree !
infact , i feel moments like these are the true moments when a person can decide what to do with his/her life .

may be u are refering to the general fact that u never know of the life . you are very much right !
but my point - we should always dream bcos unless we dream , we never aspire to bring them to reality . and goals begin in our dreams !

Well, one of my trainers asked if I wanted to stay thru the holidays and I really want to because I realized, where else am i going to make 2x minimum wage? Well for me, being 19, I think that's alright However I don't have trasportation unless I can carpool with some people that work there. Keeping my fingers crossed, there is a chance they could hire me on as a full-time associate. Plus I get discounts and stuff! Well I hope I can find transportation.

Also I am planning on taking classes in graphic design
