Yes, families are very close
and the pace of living much slower

McDonald's drive through
about 20 minutes
fast food is not fast here

people take their time
very friendly

been back for a year
and life is stress free

We are so darn polite, and always pull together in a crisis. It's not unusual in my city, for someone to start a bank account for public donations, when someone's house has burnt down, or they've been robbed at Christmas, or they need to go somewhere for medical reasons, or they've been screwed over by a corporation....etc.

The lamest things make the news, like "Kids were caught vandalizing the museum. Details at six!"

And we don't usually have alot of gun related incidents, although this seems to be on the rise.

I think we are humbled by our bitterly cold winters. It keeps our focus off of ourselves somehow.

And, we live in the shadow of our big brother, USA - which we know we can never be as great as - except maybe in hockey
