I’m getting drunk - KIDDING!!! ( it's bad for the skin ) Ironically the fish is expected to drive everyone else home *sigh* I know my duties in this life.

I am spending an intimate evening with my baby and a bottle of wine...they say how you bring in the year is how you are likely to spend it..I KNOW exactly what I want to be doing at midnight...and it is a private party... Cleaned my desk today, and unclutter my home tomorrow early so everything is fresh and clean for new beginings! Happy New year!

I'm a bit superstitious so I believe that whatever you're doing at the New Year this will be a theme for the upcoming year. Since I don't have to work I'm spending it with my kids. At midnight I let them bang wooden spoons on pie tins and run up and down our walk.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Hi MarsConjunctMercury,

I had pondering similar thoughts. The weather out here is very cold, rainy, and foggy. This doesn't feel comfortable for me at night, bar hopping around the city in taxi cabs, buzzed and spending so much cash. After 3 rounds of drinks priced and tipped at more than $9 each, it's just not cute and funny anymore because alcohol stimulates the appetite and well, one does have to eat appetizers. And even before anyone gets to the bar, one has to pay a door fee of $10 - $50.

I hadn't ordered any event tickets or made any restaurant reservations either. John Mayer is even going to be in town.

Don't get me wrong, I know these things are a lot of fun for many people. The alcohol lowers the inhibitions, socializing with tons of people, and checking out lots of good looking folks. I really do understand the fun of alcohol's fantasy world away from reality.

This year, I think I am leaning towards staying in and ordering take-out, renting some new movies, and lighting a lot of romantic candles for slow dancing with my boyfriend.

*sigh* ...and there's me thinking you were building to inviting me over as i read that...
I used to get someone really special coming along regularly, but that well seems to have dried up. Hope it's temporary and just a lesson. I swear i've learned from it now.

How do you use smilies, and how do you unsubscribe from a thread?

The JOKE answer: Your Mom (Of course)

MCM (marsconjunctmercury),

You can't unsubscribe to one once you've subscribed to it. The only time you can subscribe to a thread is when you are the creator of the thread. Otherwise, you don't have the option.

---------------

The REAL answer: I'm still sick. I'll be visiting my Aries friend in the city who also, coincidentally, mentioned renting some movies.

Hi MarsConjunctMercury,

This thread is stirring up a memory of what I did on one of my New Year's Eve.

A few years ago, I was living in a flat with 5 other roommates. Everyone, except me and one other person, had plans, we two stayed in. We were wondering about what we could do and she (Saggitarius Sun, Libra Moon, Leo Rising) offered to give me readings with her Angel and Tarot cards! They were readings done in anticipation of what's to come in the New Year. It was a lot of fun and insightful.

Tomorrow will also have a transiting Capricorn Black Moon. Interesting . . . considering that I have the Capricorn Moon in my natal chart. I was reading a little bit about Black Moons on Shirley McClaine's website yesterday, but I still don't have a good understanding about them.

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you a Happy New Year.

As for adding little faces onto your posts, follow the directions on this site:

Hey AG,

Hope you feel better soon and if you are in touch with Sue G, would you tell her I said Hi? Happy New Year to you too.

I left her a message with a link.

I think the cough part's in decline, but my sore throat's going to take a few days I'm sure. I'm hoping tomorrow won't be worse than today.

Happy almost New Year, Everyone!

With all the rain that's been hitting our area,I've decided to go up to the mountains where it's turning to SNOW ! I usually go back east for my annual fix, but this year I've decided to stay closer to home.

Aphrodite- It's interesting to note my Angel AND Tarot cards are packed and ready to go,lol !

AG - hope you're feeling better soon!

See you all in 2006...

Ahhhh! I figure that I'll just celebrate the New Year by getting stone cold drunk, make a complete @ss out of myself, sleep on a park bench, panhandle and harrass people just for kicks, then get arrested, wake up the the next morning with a hangover in a jail cell, call my lawyer to get me out of jail, pay a whopping fine and some more jail time four months later, go to AA meetings, go to church, run a business, then become president of the United States!

What do you say, sounds like a plan?

Edit: We'll be @ a friend's house.
The husband's American and the wife's German; they're inviting mostly her German friends.

He said, "Please come! It's going to be all Deutchers! They get going and I have no idea what's going on! I just end-up sitting back by the fire...'Poke...poke...poke...'"

So, to help out a friend...
