Hehe, funny thought considering it's almost Valentine's Day, but hey...I will be going on a trip really soon (two weeks from today) and I want some suggestions on pretty scents (as natural and non-perfumey as possible) to buy(or mix) and wear...I was thinking along the lines of essential oil combinations or natural stuff that would last a whole day without wearing off. Feminine smells, but not too floral cause of my allergies...

Any suggestions?

P.S. Yeah, and my guy I'll be seeing on vacation has Venus in Taurus, so he loves it too when I'm smelling beautiful...one more reason

Hi VAA,

Are you in the vicinity of a natural health food store? They usually carry a variety of essential oils you can smell and try on before buying. If you do go with essential oils, make sure they are diluted with a base oil ~ like jojoba, almond, apricot kernel, grape seed, etc.

Good luck!

P.S. I thought for a little bit which scent you might like! How about Vanilla?

Neroli? Tangerine mixed with *a little* ylang ylang?
A woodsy base, like sandalwood/cedarwood, with grapefruit and patchouli?
Vanilla.. mmmmmmmmm. But mixed with something else.....
Lavender?

a little chocolate/coconut scent never hurt anyone.

By the way, if we're talking Taurus scent-sibilites, and food as aphrodesiac, did you know cinnamon/pumpkin pie spice is considered a very primal male-oriented scent?

Ohhh...there was a gorgeous lemony scent from (I think) Clarins that I tested in a department store over the weekend - think it must be brand new...it's gorgeous. I don't usually like a lot of perfumes but this one was just...mmmh, the sort to make one kissable...I'll see if I can find out the name.

Ylang, ylang is very nice. I use this when giving my mate sensual massages. It is a very captivating scent and seems to add a bit of "mystery" to the air. I am sure your venus in taurus will enjoy it. My mate has a taurus moon and it's one of his favorites.

Good luck on your trip...I hope you have a wonderful time.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions, guys Keep 'em coming...
I'm definitely looking into them...a bit based on budget cause I'm almost broke til tax money comes in shortly, LOL. It will be nice to have a flirty new scent to wear for my trip...

Hmmm...ylang-ylang sounds familiar, and so far it's gotten two mentions...do you know if they carry it at health food stores, or someplace like that so I can mix it down or dilute it if necessary?

I'm also a major vanilla fan...
Never tried cinnamon/pumpkin spice...wonder how that would smell on me?

I also love lemon, as I have some natural soap scented like that...

I got my essential oil at Bath and Body works..they had a pretty vast collection that I mix with a carrier oil such as johoba or grapeseed. It's fairly inexpensive. I know that some health food stores carry it, but you may have to look at some sort of specialty store. I am not sure what they have in your area. But like I said, they are fairly inexpensive and last forever, as you only need 1-2 drops for them to be really fragrant.

I like the ideas at Bath and Body works...I've tried their aromatherapy products before and it was delicious on the senses.
Also, I perused through the website of
The Body Shop, a UK-based company that uses a bit more natural ingredients, and found some surprising options...perfumed oils for 12-18$ for 1/2 - 1 oz. I'm thinking that may well me in my price range and I have a membership card for there too.

Hmmm...choices, choices...it's nice to have choices And still I'm not leaving on the trip for 11 more days.

i get oils at BB too
my fav. was discontinued
it was a calming blend with cederwood, sandalwood, & patchoului.
i just bought the stress relief blend to replace it. its very nice light and fresh(my kids love it)
its a blend of pure orange, mandarin, & lemon.
i also have the lavender but i find it a bit strong so i use it sparingly.
i favor essential oils because alot of perfumes would give me headaches(very fustrating to buy one and THEN find out you cant wear it,grrrrrrrr)
now that ive been using oils exclusively ill never go back, i love them.
