What first brought me to you?
It had to be your smile,
A goofy upbeat grin,
Warmth that didn't hideA cool ice princess like me,
I'd never suspect
Just how much of my heart
You had begun to affect
It started as friends,
What else would the twins want?
A spark as we spoke,
A jolt as we hugged
You'd skip through my head,
Wiggle into my thoughts,
I'd look for you everywhere,
In case you could be caught
Then right at the moment
When I'd give up my search,
You'd pop round the corner,
And give my stomach a lurch
Sweet boy, so elusive
You weren't mine to hold
So I let you fly free,
Even if it made me feel cold
One magical afternoon
It was exactly two o'clock PM,
A little fairy informed me
You liked me more than friends
Oh, how my heart soared,
How the world became so bright
Suddenly you were reachable
My sunbeam of light
Every moment was timeless,
Every heartbeat held dear
I loved you implicitly
Cared deeply without fear
The mean ocean came between us
But we fought past the loss
Our love was too precious
Whatever the cost
You called to say good morning
And how to you, I was dear
I sent you sweet poetry
Brought from my heart, so clear
I flew over the ocean,
One week, on instinct need
It felt right but I cried so,
My heart wouldn't lead
It left us even further apart,
It calmed none of my doubts
I cry so much every day since,
I've lost all sense of route
The story's not over,
It still remains to be seen,
What can we weather,
With this love that's so keen?
