I just watched this movie. It was wonderful. Anyone here who hasn't seen it yet should rent it next time you need a "pick-me-up." If you like movies like Dangerous Minds and Stand and Deliver etc. you will love this movie.

I feel light-hearted and I am buzzing with peace and contentment.
Yes, they are just movies, with a lot of Hollywood added to the realities... but there's nothing wrong with a little Calfornia dreamin' every once in a while. Ahhhh, the inspiration!!!!!!!!

You can DO it, WaterBoy!!!! You CAN DO IT!!!

I saw part of Coach Carter and it seemed like a good movie with a great story... Kinda/sorta like Remember the Titans? (only not set in 1970-something)

I watched "Stay" last night and I loved it...I think it just came out and it made me cry! It's hard to make me cry but that movie sure did for some reason.

Hello Lg What is "Stay" about?

Remeber the Titans is an inspirational sports story and Coach Carter is an inspirational teaching story, if that helps differentiate for you. Both are good, but different.

This quote is from the screenplay to Coach Carter. I have no idea where this quote originally came from, but I have read it before more than once.

"Our deepest fear is not
that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that
we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness
that most frightens us.

Your playing small
does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened
about shrinking

so that other people
won't feel insecure around you.

We were all meant to shine,
as children do.

It's not just in some of us,
it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,

we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated
from our own fear,

our presence automatically
liberates others."

It's a powerful teaching story, like Dangerous Minds, but of the quality you would expect from a recent movie/screenplay. It is also more realistic. I can't remember the last movie I saw that I enjoyed this much. Maybe something as far back as Pay It Forward... can't remember.
