Hexxie and all you Tool fans, I was so stoked for the Tool show tonight in San Antonio, but it was postponed cause Manyard "blew his voice" according to one local DJ.

Darn, I was looking forward to the show.

Bohoo!!

Send the awesome man some healing energies!!!

Ah Crap! That sucks Hippichick...
I'll be sending Maynard all I can... Tool definitly has too much to convey, to be down for any length of time!

You'll still be getting some 'Tool-time', right? The show has only been postponed...?
We missed both shows this summer
Always have Tool ( and at very high decibels ), rolling down the road though.

I'm jealous you got tickets!

I tried so hard to get tix to 2 different shows in my area and one in Vegas, no dice...the worst part is that tix came up on ticketmaster in the nosebleed seats (which still wasn't bad considering it was a smallish theater), so I tried for better seats and in the end got nada.

I've seen them 6 times, but not in years and I was so wanting to get tickets for this tour.

At least you'll be able to catch em on the reschedule (Psst, I'm still jealous ) LOL

Yea, I got tickets, but nosebleed right after tickets went onsale online!! I was so MAD! I was certain there was some sort of ticket scam between the SBC ctr and ticketmaster that I e-mailed the SBC ctr, my state representative, a local news celeb, Tool and anyone else who would listen!!

Yes, I plan to go when they reschedule.

Gemini

True, a shame Tool has to be down for ANY lenght of time. Maybe Maynard has been spending too much time at his vineyard!

Exact same thing happened to me!!! Except I clicked "try for diff seats" and got "none available" thereafter....

Fifteen minutes after they went on sale, nosebleed seats were being sold on eBay for $300 :-/

I think they reserve a load of seats for the fan club members which they give away before they go on sale to the general public, plus all the other reserved seats as giveaways for radio stations and other promo stuff - a friend of mine who got tix said that he's seen tix to Tool shows come available thru Ticketmaster a week before a show. He thinks they don't release all seats when they go on sale sometimes. Who knows... I just wish they'd do more dates in large metro areas.

Now I am convinced there is a ticket scam going on. I too, looked for tickets from scalpers online an hour after tickets went on sale and floor seats (which is what I wanted) were going for $700.00!

I did recieve response from the customer service rep from the SBC ctr and it was full of bull crap about how "Tool" is a very popular show and tickets sell out very quickly, etc. I have never had a problem before buying tickets online and until lately Tool has been fairly undergound. She did give me a hint and told me to try back the week of the show, which I did, to no avail. I can refund these tickets, so I may just play their game and if I am able to purchase better ones, I will return these!

I think I will e-mail Blair at Toolband.com again.

BTW there was no presale here.

No doubt here there's something going on behind the ticketmaster bull
When Tool was in town, for their first show here, there supposedly was a 2 ticket max,...per HOUSEhold! This due to the very limited seating that the venue allowed. Very much an experience, especially if it was one that had the means ($$$$) to hope to happen at this particular theater...
I was in line, and hubby on-line at 10:am SHARP!! Nothing and, by 10:15am those of us still waiting in line, were informed ... with much pissy attitude... that the show was sold-out.
When I got back home, my husband's disappointment...
I got on-line and went to my local craigslist.... ANGRY ...very angry Tool fans, EvERYwhERE! Mixed throughout were the scalpers.... '5 Tool tickets...', '8 Tool tickets...' and every one of these that I opened and read, immediately created more anger. All of them spoke of all the 'whiners' and the complete lack of respect had for such uneducated, (thus fund-less) bunch of babies....
Then the posting of a very confused and, rightly so beyond angry, Tool fan.... wondering how some so-&-so in NY was the dollar-eyed e-Bay Power seller of, not one set of 2 tickets but MANY... understated terribly... sets of 2 Tool tickets, for the show set here where we are.... nowhere even close to NY! Selling.... 'scuse me... rape price..? no less than 15 bills per set.... If wishes filled ones hand before sh... well, we would'nt have missed that experience....
Still have so very much ANGeR!
... maybe Maynard's voice has had it with deaf ears...?

Nose-bleeders or not, Tool live ... nothing short of powerful!

Geez and I thought I had it bad!

Very disappointing for Tool. They have always been very fan oriented!

I wonder if 'The Machine" has finally got it's claws into Maynard. He has always been so antiestablishment, anticensorship, etc. What with Tool, APC, Puscifer, the Vineyard, WTF? A marvelously talented individual as all of the band members are, but spreading oneself too thin is spreading oneself too thin!

... I could'nt imagine he would fall into the grips of 'the Machine'.... he seems, to me anyway, too intelligent an individual... he'd have some plan of attacking from within!
He, in many subtle ways, is much like my son.. his basic 'nature'... if that makes any sense ..
My son's b-day is April 13 and I believe Maynard's is April 17, so s'pose that Aries may play into things. I think Maynard also has a water moon... Cancer, I think..? My son's is in Pisces...
Anyway,... no worries Hippichick they are'nt a Tool without purpose

SWEET!! Yeah, my boy is 10 now... his Ascendent is Virgo. What a crazy mix poor kid! The 'Head-Long go-getter'... with the oceans of emotions.

You have an 18 yr old? You have that kind of energy that is hard to pin any age bracket on I don't like fitting into boxes of any sort either though

Hey hippichick i am just now seeing this thread ere!

I saw Tool on Thurs 9/7 (Full Moon madness wooo!) and my friend and I noticed he was losing his voice a bit then (Not to mention Staples Center's sound sucks) Twas a good show anyways! We had decent seats too... only because me and the 3 other people I was going with all sat at our comps waiting for them to go on sale!

I had a kind of trippy mystical experience due to the music, and the lighting, and video they used that I will not go entirly into here. But I will say that I almost felt like I was gonna bug outta my earth-suit! Hmmm perhaps it ws just everyone 'smoking' around us too heh.

What cracked me up was that after the show everyone was so pumped up that someone would start 'Woooooo!-ing' and then it would start a chain reaction. I shouted 'Full Moon' which got another round of 'Woooo!-s' started hehe. I hope they come back to their home town (and mine) 'this hopeless f***ing hole we call LA' at the end of their tour like they did last time!!!

So when do you get to go hippi?? Tell me how it was after ok?! Although I already know it will be good.

LOL after I typed this last night I had a Tool concert dream. I dreamt that I wanted to go again and no one else did for some reason. So I got a ticket and went by myself. It was weird cuz the concert was in like a church or something. Then I couldn't find my seat for some reason and I woke up before I could actually hear them play again <sigh> hehe
~~~
Another thing I thought of that I really really liked about the show I did go to was at the end of their performance, the lights all went down and there was semi-darkness. So everyone wanted more of course and, just like the ol' days, everyone lit their lighters and held them up. None of that cell phone light crap. It was beautiful! I was a gigantic sea of little flames (Staples is a huge venue & it was sold out!) Then Tool came out again and stood there and took out their own lighters and lit them too! It was an awesome ring of fire. Then they continued to play a few encore songs!! Yay!
`Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'
Hey Hexxie!!!! Glad you saw the post!
Oh, my!! I can only wish Tool re-schedules on a full moon here! I envy you and the surreal, mystical experience. But can imagine it with Tool!
I too, had a dream about going to a Tool show. In my dream, ALL of the seats stunk, even floor were obscured by props!!!
Terri
BTW upon listening to an interview with a local DJ, Adam stated Maynard was getting sick a few days before and in Houston, the night before they were supposed to be here, he sang not nearly as much, and there were alot of musical themes!!
