I just wanted to share these beautiful lyrics with everyone. They're from a song called "No one is Alone" from Stephen Sondheim's wonderful musical, "Into the Woods," which tells all our favourite fairy tales in a fabulously clever, funny and heartwarming way. It's sung by Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood (LRRH), the Baker, Jack from Jack and the BeanstalkDon't know what put this into my head but I suddenly remember that I heard it a couple of weeks before my dad died.
The phrase "Sometimes people leave you halfway through the woods," has stuck in my head ever since as it seemed a poignant way of describing his passing. However I love this song, because it so rightly reminds us that "No one leaves for good."
Dedicated to all those navigating through the woods - may your fairy tale find a happy conclusion
