Please forgive me but we are really excited about this in Detroit.

Yes he is, lala!! Tom Selleck was Detroit born and raised and has always been a big Tiger fan. Even in the lean years. lol He always wears that Detroit Tiger baseball cap.

You can bet you will see a lot of Tom Selleck during the World Series telecasts. lol

Jeff Daniels is also a big Tiger fan and still lives in the Ypsilanti area of Michigan. Kid Rock was born and raised in Romeo, Mich which is only about 5 miles north of me. His parents still live there and he is a big Detroit sports fan. Mostly a Pistons fan though as is Bob Seger who also still lives here.

The thing about Kid Rock is that we now have to look at Pamela Anderson a lot during our sports events here. lol

Thanks, Silverstone.

Yeah we are having a lot of fun here celebrating. I love the way this Tiger team always involves the fans. When they beat the Yankees they celebrated on the field with champagne and Kenny Rogers and some of the other players went up into the stands spraying the fans with champagne too. Never saw a team do that before. It was great and the fans loved it.

M I R A N D E E

I know my boys are on top of this, but my head's been out of the loop for the past few days..Thanks for the good news!!!.......and oh, how terrible to have to see Pamela Anderson all the time...

Stephen used to live in Ann Arbor when he worked at the University and has been a Tiger fan just about all his life....gets into the Pistons and Lions too...all my boys do, actually...it's just "mom" who is not much of a sports fan......this is good news tho....I'll probably even watch the World Series...

Yeah

PS....I think Tim the "Toolman" gets into all this stuff too....

Remember him? and didn't he used to have Pamela Anderson on his show????

My boys and my husband are Tiger fans, Piston fans, and die hard Lion fans, not to mention of course Detroit Red Wing hockey fans, Rainbow. Mom's a big Hockey fan too.

Tim the toolman aka the voice of Buzz Lightyear hee hee, is a big Lion's fan. I'm sure he supports all the Detroit teams though.

Okay, told you that Jeff Daniels the actor is a big Tiger's fan. He wrote and performed a song called "The Life Long Tiger Fan Blues."

Here's the video and words. Way cool song and video.

THE LIFE LONG TIGER FAN BLUES

I been a baseball fan since I’s a little boy

Had a bedroom full of little baseball toys

A bat and a ball and a Wilson glove

Yeah me ‘n the national past time we was so in love

Every openin’ day, oh I still get that itch

I can hardly wait till that very first pitch

All my hopes and dreams all in place

I get visions of my Tigers in the pennant race.

Win or lose, I got the life long Tiger fan blues

I been sufferin’ in silence

Year after year

My beloved little boys has brought me nuthin’ but tears

Just when I thought I could’nt get any lower

My sky opened up and my cup runneth over

Now everywhere I travel people envy me

Everytime I wear my Old English ‘D’

Well you can keep the Yankees …Boston too

An’ if you’re a White Sox fan, you know what you can do ( huh)

Win or lose I got the life long Tiger fan blues

I get that old lovin’ feelin’

Everytime I see Jim Leland

The bases are loaded

We got ‘em blowin’ by ‘em

He motions to the man and brings in Joel Zumaya

Win or lose I got the life long Tiger fan blues

We got Kenny Rogers

We got Marcus Thames

We got Pudge Rodriguez

We got Brandon Inge

We got Andrew Miller

We got Roman Colon

Placido Polanco and Todd Jones

We got Miner, Casey,Guillen, and Magglio

Verlander and Bonderman, Maroth and Monroe

We got Wilson, Walker, Granderson, Robertson and Rodney

Grilli, Gomez, Shelton, Cleylen and Omar Infante

Win or lose I got the life long Tiger fan blues

PLAY BALL!

I get that old lovin’ feelin’

Everytime I see Jim Leland

The bases are loaded

We got ‘em blowin’ by ‘em

Well hang on to your helmet here comes Ol’ Joel Zumaya

Win or lose I got the life long Tiger fan blues

Now lets be honest

It was’nt always this way

I frankly did’nt think I’d ever see the day

So pardon my elation

Excuse my bliss

But we are leadin’ the league in happiness

‘cause just like back in ’68 and ‘84

We’re doin’ the wave and we’re restorin’ the roar

And if the pope’s still catholic

And the worlds’ still round

My Detroit Tigers are World Series Bound

Win or lose I got the life long Tiger fan blues

Yeah Win or lose I got the life long Tiger fan blues!

Go get ‘em Tigers!

The New York Mets lost tonight to the St. Louis Cardinals so we are playing them on Saturday in the World Series opener at Comerica Park in Detroit, Rainbow.

Mirandee.....

My dad was a Tiger fan and I grew up listening to them on the radio when I was a little girl...My dad never missed any of the games and even used to keep score on a big score sheet that he made with pencil, paper and a ruler....HE LOVED IT!

He instilled that same enthusiasm and love for the Tigers in my boys - especially my oldest son, Stephen...

I remember we all went to see them at the Tiger Stadium one time and it was a double header......and at the same time, they were filming the "The Ron LaFlore Story" for a coming TV movie and we were part of the audience when the cameras used the audience in a scene....so I always tell people I was in that movie (part of my "delusions of graudeur" I guess, tee hee)......

......Levar Burton (the Reading Rainbow guy, among many other things[ROOTS - STARTREK - etc.] ) who played Ron LaFlore, was out on the field a lot with the bat

That was fun!

Right now Stephen is in Wisconsin on business for the tribe, but with a TV in his hotel room, I know he's not going to miss that opening game tomorrow...He'll be back Sunday nite and we'll talk about it...

Exciting, isn't it? (me the non-sports fan, said that!)

Yeah it is very exciting, Rainbow.

Butch ( my hubby ) and I used to go to the Tiger games at least a couple of times a week during the 60's and we had a really big year in 68 when the Tigers won the pennant and the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Looking for a repeat of that this time.

The security is really tight this time around. They have not only the Michigan State Police, the Detroit Police but also the FBI and Homeland Security at this World Series. Something we didn't experience in previous World Series in Detroit.
