Concentration is a lifting of the eyes to see, and an opening of the hands to receive. Therefore, let your eyes be lifted to Heaven, and your hands be open to receive the same. The sword of your enemy is the chissel which wrests from you all that is not your true essence and destiny, and sculpts of you a monument to Heaven. She who does not provoke herself to shed the accumulated dross, shall be provoked to do so by her enemies (so-called).
How subtle is wisdom (or how dense are we)? It tells you one thing in this moment, and something entirely different the next. Wisdom says "Duck!" when the adversary swings for your head, and "Jump!" when he swings for your legs. How can you hope to hear wisdom just once? You will hear only "Duck!", and all wisdom to you will be "duck". You will consequently duck when you should jump, and will lose your legs! Another, hearing only "Jump" will lose his head! The lessons of Wisdom are always new, and we are always students of The One who teaches. Wisdom speaks to you always in the moment. Be listening!
The words of the prophets are a song, not meant to be taught, but to be sung. If they teach, that is an after-effect. The prophet is not conscious of teaching, but of singing The Word(s) as revealed to her. Does a bird teach? Perhaps. But, firstly, she sings.

Thanks, Melody. I've been having some pretty crumby thoughts and feelings about myself for most of the day. You just cheered me up. Thank you. You're really sweet, and I'm a sure sucker for that Libran praise. Did you see this yet? http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=49251475&blogID=169312682&MyToken=33f23b1b-35be-443d-9695-c52645902aff I hope you are feeling better. And I hope you know what an inspiration you are, shining your high spirits in the midst of your dark times. I see it, and I know others do too. Love to you, S

Guess what?!? They have been searching for an active link for 'The Secret' in Universal Codes, and SunChild (that blessed little mystical goddess) found it and posted it! I get to watch it either tonight or tomorrow. Thank you thank you thank you What a good friend you are! I am blessed too. You are easy to praise! Your blog is great too, I found a favorite that you had previously posted and a couple new favorites! I left the page up so I could read them again tomorrow. I might find one to write in my "favorite quotes" journal. For example: "No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other's worth." ~Robert Southey IP: Logged |

Some additional thoughts:It is by loving the music of the prophets, or the birds, that we come to understand their meaning; we only capture the spirit of this music when we are captured by it. The prophet's song is one of love and celebration of God and life, as is the song of the bird. To listen with love (to love listening), is to love the universal theme of their prolific singing, which is love itself; love of all. Furthermore, it is only in the spirit of this love that it becomes possible to discern the relevent interpretations of the various words, phrases, and sounds. Truly, an ear for music, rather than a distinguishing intellect, is essential to the success of this pursuit. IP: Logged |

How appropriate... I spent Saturday night loving music and my beloved musicians, and I posted to them earlier that experiencing their talents gave me positive energy that lasts for weeks. I also woke up the next morning listening to the "song of the morning" birdsong and feeling more alive and happy than I have for a very long time. One is my long time buddy, and another I've known for almost a decade because he's been playing with my buddy. They play better when I am there. They love me and I love them. It's easy and joyful almost every time. The only time I haven't felt the overwhelming positive energy is the few times over the years I arrived feeling very negative. They were able to cheer me a couple times, and I created a cloud of darkness and depression other times. There is a giant connection that I try to use to create amazing positive experiences. I have a little dream in the back of my mind.... it involves a combination of the things you wrote about, Steve. IP: Logged |
