I'm not so sure Xodian, there is a LOT of stupidity in the world, and those who are influenced.I see what you are saying at the same time, but that position presupposes a mature and responsible audience. Society is moving in another direction though. Ignorance is the new cool. Kids playing in the street are expected to drop that behaviour after they get older, but this is adults. On the face of it harmless, and probably harmless in reality too if they checked the effects afterwards. I think it's a case of erring on the side of caution. Violence is too easily accepted as a normal part of life these days, so anything that could move it towards being an uncomfortable element would be desirable. Perhaps we ahve become too desensitised to it all. Swerve IP: Logged |

Yes I do believe and feel for those who have actually have been effected by gun violence one way or another, and probably this commercial will bring out bad memories. However, we can only instill moral compass in people to whatever degree we may want to but when it comes down to the issue of out of control youth and kids, its society's lack of barriers. "Do what ever you want to do." Its what the entertainment business thrives on. IP: Logged |

I agree. But the old arguments of "guns don't kill, people do" "hip-hop is music" "gangsta rap just reflects life" "games aren't real life" and many others - not only from urban culture miss the point that what you make cool becomes that which people aspire to.Such a big deal is made of freedom of speech and action and everything else, but some people just don't know how to use their freedom productively, which in fact backs up your point. Do whatever you want - and **** the consequences or responsibilities inherent. I think people need to learn respect for themselves and others before they go spouting the freedom jargon, which in reality just becomes excuses for ignorance. Swerve IP: Logged |
