HI guys

I have a question to ask:

Does anyone know who sings The first time I saw your face? I am not too sure if that is even the right title for the song.
I heard it on the radio, late last night, and it somehow moved me!
Also, is it from the 1960s?

I love that song....

The one I know is sung by Roberta Flack

Is it this one do you think Yang...

First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the empty skies, my love,
To the dark and the empty skies.

The first time ever I kissed your mouth
And felt your heart beat close to mine
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command, my love
That was there at my command.

And the first time ever I lay with you
I felt your heart so close to mine
And I knew our joy would fill the earth
And last till the end of time my love
It would last till the end of time my love

The first time ever I saw your face, your face,
your face, your face

It's Mr Gordon Lightfoot.

Other than him being a total sl*t, hehehee, as evidenced by "That's what you get for loving me"
which makes me cringe everytime I sing alon... I LOVE Gordon Lightfoot!

These are the lyrics that showed up when I put Gordon Lightfoot in~

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
To the night and the empty skies my love
To the night and the empty skies
The first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth turn in my hand
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command my love
That was there at my command

The first time ever I lay with you
And felt your heart beat close to mine
I thought our joy would fill the earth
And would last till the end of time my love
And would last till the end of time

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
To the night and the empty skies my love
To the night and the empty skies

Just in case you think I'm insane......

Thanks guys.

It has to be Roberta Flack as it was a woman singing it on radio!

~and it was definitely NOT Celine Dion~
