And here's another for you, Steve

Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore
I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are

Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care

I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are.

I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take 'till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you.

I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are.

quote:
"We want more than this world's got to offer
We want more than the wars of our fathers"

I like this.

And I like AG's quote.
Keats was a Scorp.

AG,

Touche, good man.
Even when you post just one or two lines,
not only do I catch your drift,
but, you even get me thinking again.
How do you do that?
You teach me about "less is more".
Your subtlety and modesty
does not compromise your impact, my friend.
You are a person with true merit,
and I'm really glad to have you around.

peace

Also,
I've been thinking about Eris,
and that is the principle of Eris.

Eris is the Goddess of Discord, or Strife.
The Keats quote shows the lighter aspect of Eris.
But, as Melody pointed out,
Eris has a shadow side as well.
Discord and strife can stimulate growth,
but also be a sign of crisis more serious.
It takes an experienced eye.
When in doubt, its probably better
to take it too seriously
than not seriously enough.
Now Melody knows i'm going to cry wolf from time to time,
because i am basically paranoid of my own shadow.
She can offer a word of support,
and that may be all i need to get me through it,
hopefully a little wiser than the last time.

My daughter wanted popcorn earlier and I told her I couldn't make it because it was her bedtime. I just read the update on Rainbow's thread and then prayed. Then I went in and woke my beautiful girl up with a smile and asked her if she wanted to do something silly. She exclaimed "YEAH" with extreme glee and I told her she could get up and I would make popcorn and we could eat it in the middle of the night. She bounced out of bed and we are going to watch a tape with Charlie Brown's Valentine on it.
Goodnight all and thanks for being here.

One more appropriate song...

"Shine"

Give me a word
Give me a sign
Show me where to look
Tell me what will I find
Lay me on the ground
Fly me in the sky
Show me where to look
Tell me what will I find
Oh, heaven let your light shine down

Love is in the water
Love is in the air
Show me where to go
Tell me will love be there
Teach me how to speak
Teach me how to share
Teach me where to go
Tell me will love be there
Oh, heaven let your light shine down

I'm responding to your MySpace message, HSC. While concise, perhaps not as minimalist as usual.

Thank you Steve.
I read your posts, I love your soul.

Acoustic God, beautiful quote. Very true.

Don't walk behind me, I may not lead.
Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Just walk beside me,
and be my friend.

Albert Camus

Kisses xxx

P.S. An inspirational thread, Mystic Melody.
I hope I didn't misuse it.

Yay!!
AG, I love that Yeats quote. Thank you!!
I am always saying that,
and always arguing with so -called realists
who think results are everything.
But we, to be realists,
must examine the criminal,
not the crime or its effects.

Mercy is justice with a bird's eye view.

And, sometimes, it goes the other way too.
"And so, I must be cruel only to be kind.
Now bad begins and worse remains behind."
- Shakespeare

Results can be misleading.

"[I did not fail to invent the lightbulb 9,000 times.
I discovered 9,000 ways of how NOT to invent a lightbulb.]"
- Edison

castlegirl,

Thank you. And you are welcome.
I love my soul too.

And that Camus quote has always been a favorite of mine.
Thank you for reminding me of it.
Very timely and poignant for me.
Thank you.

Camus was a Scorpio with Aqua Moon,
just like me!!

Castlegirl, the thread is open... use it as you wish. These are just the d.v.d. extras.

Just posted this in poetry class for a guy who is talking about a poem idea on finally losing control over things he cannot change. I told him that I would be interested in seeing a poem on the struggle in your mind to determine if it is something you can change... and the tricks your mind may play in the process. I Googled this one for the first 4 lines, but saw the rest and decided to share the complete work.

"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen."

Someone just told me that quote is often wrongly attributed to Camus. Its actually a traditional irish proverb. It's all over ireland, i guess.

There are short-cuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them. ~Vicki Baum

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music. ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance. ~Japanese Proverb
