Ok, Elena, I'm thinking you have seen the Scarlett mention yourself. I just found it again in Sun Signs Aries Woman. I am going to continue to search for the Rhett reference, to make sure I didn't just convince myself of it over the years!!! I like to read comparisons between many aspects in both Sun Signs and Love Signs (I read Aries Woman because I have Aries in the first house) and I had a relationship with a Scorp AC guy many years ago. Linda sometimes makes references to other signs in specific sign chapters so I am going to have to do a lot of looking in Love Signs Scorpio male to ? female to check for the reference. I'll give it a skim tonight and then will keep my eye out in the future for it! If anyone else finds it, let me know.Linda on Aries/Scarlett: (p22) "Scarlett O'Hara is the very epitome of the Mars-ruled Aries female. Heart - Shaped Cross,i absolutely agree that Scarlett was an Aries(in the novel), but in the film may be V. Leigh added something scorpionic to the image (she was a Scorp herself and M. Mitchel the author was a Scorp woman), but Scarlett - no... too careless, dreamy and optimistic for to be a Scorpion

okay, i confess,
I'm talking out my a$$.
i never read the book or saw the movie.
All i know about rhett is that he
frankly doesnt give a damn,
and, of scarlett, that,
if she has to lie, cheat, steal, or kill,
as god as her witness, she will never
go hungry again.
I thought Rhett's coolness too restrained
for a Scorpio, who would have dug his
talons into that parting moment.
And Scarlett is clearly voicing
the Scorpionic survival instinct.
But, yeah, i dont really clue,
just trying to stir the pot.Mel, You have Aries in the 1st?
Or did you mean to say Mars?
I thought you had a Cap Ascendant
and a Cappy moon in the 1st.

D'oh. Yes, Mars... oops. Libra can be scatter-brained, yes? I'm my own opposite and square to Cap and Cancer (moon in the 1st) which I know is sloppy astrology, but it basically explains why I am an enigma wrapped in a mystery. (ya, just call me Mango)You HAVE to watch that movie. Rhett is absolutely a Scorpio. He's awesome. You will love his style... and recognize it.
And uh, he wasn't that cool about a half hour before that scene... he's quite passionate in many ways. I'm going to have to make time to get lost in that movie some time soon. I didn't think of Scarlett as an Aries at first, but since the great Linda felt it was so, I have viewed it in that manner and it does fit in many ways...

I fell in love with Linda when she recognized Scarlett as an Aries, i always told so, but when i saw Lida's book...Great! Somebody understands!
And M.Mitchel...So deep understanding people's nature (Scorpio talent).

I always thought Scarlett epitomized a stereotypical unevolved Leo.
I'm surprised no one else thinks that.
Self-absorbed, Drama Queen, Belle of the Ball, needing to be the most courted, the most desired of all, Fiercly Proud, Independant, although inside insecure.
Scorpio Moon perhaps, Aries rising.Rhett~ an Aquarius with a Cancer Moon.
He was so cool and aloof, not falling for Scarlett's dramatics or manipulations...and inwardly (Moon) so tender, nostolgic and caring. (remember how he felt about his daughter?) Perhaps he had some Scorpio in him as well. Very perceptive and his endurance awesome. A lifetime of putting up with her **** and he endured, but when he'd finally had it, he'd had it. Their relationship seemed also to epitimize the Leo-Aquarius polarity of opposite magnetic attraction. Pulled together again and again by a Passion that logic wouldn't have made sense of. Always the potential, if only, to learn from one another lessons of unconditional/personal Love. Melany. What an amazing woman. How much happier Rhett might have been with a woman like her. There seemed an intuitive understanding between them. They saw each other. Remember...she didn't doubt him for an instant about his made up story of getting drunk with the soldiers to hide his wound. Scarlett instantly blamed him and thought the worst of him. Melany believed in him. Also, whereas Scarlet thought of Melany as weak because she was so kind and gentle, Rhett, always recognized Melany's inner strength. I imagine Melany as Pisces/Sagittarius somehow. Guess: Pisces Sun/Sag Moon/Libra rising. She was so compassionate, understanding, intuitive and perceptive. If it weren't for the movie Gone With the Wind, I might not be here. Nor my mom Mirandee. My grandparents met waiting in line to see it. The movie was so poplular at the time, that the line was very long. They got to know each other in that line, and by the time they reached the ticket booth, my grandpa paid my grandma's way in, and they watched it together.
The rest is history.  Stephen, Man of Theatre, you haven't seen it? Aw man, you gotta watch it someday. It's amazing. Or...I've never read the book, but I hear that's even better.  IP: Logged |

I'm still putting my money on Scorpio for Rhett. He penetrates and can be scathing with the comments. You can see the hurt in his eyes very very briefly and then it's gone. His devotion to his daughter was Scorp too, in my opinion. And what Cancer moons are world travellers and blockade runners? hehe
I thought Ashley was the Aqua. He wasn't quite intuitive or emotional enough to be a Pisces, or I would have guessed that.
Scarlett had the infant thing going on with the selfish and quick temper. Her positive qualities (warrior strength) are to be admired too. I always liked to think she a had Libra AC though .
Oh, Scarlett's dad was a Gemini. It had his birthday on the tombstone. We can just keep guessing about the others....

In the novel i'd put my money for:
Scarlett - Aries
Ashley - Aqua|Pisces
Melany - Pisces
Rhett - Scorpio
Scarlett father - Leo

I haven't read the novel, but I agree with all of your choices for major energies. I'd go with Dad as a Leo too... the dates on the stone were probably arbitrary.Do you think air signs are more likely to be mentally off at the end? I guess you could argue that it would be a passionate fire or emotional water sign, but sometimes us air types just get a little too far out there in our musings.

HSC if your a Sun Scorpio but feel Aries than thats the vibe you truly relate to than run with it, and than on that note it would mean I am really a Cancer because that's the energy I resonate to! ------------------
