The Cure - Why Can't I Be You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQ522VHPvm0
Proof that it's ok for an alternative rocker to dawn a furry outfit and partake in a choreographed dance number.

David Bowie - I'm Afraid of Americans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RmHq5EwCH4
Nothing quite like ice cold David Bowie being pursued by angry American Trent Reznor. Trent Reznor remixed this song. Interesting to note that this song is on the album Earthlings, and both Dave and Trent are Earth suns (Capricorn and Taurus).

Blur - Parklife: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mabUYcYu66E
Quintessentially British. Reminds me of Madness.

U2 - One: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUNdwiWf2Ro
The Fly was actually the song that was the turning point for me starting to like U2, but video-wise, this one's better (in an artistic sense).

Johnny Cash - Hurt (NIN cover): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmVAWKfJ4Go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_qRnxYbMzU
(May make you cry)

Beastie Boys - Sabotage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzTxuDUfzzM

AG~

I am now fully convinced we have the same taste in music...thanks for the clips!

IMO, "Close to Me" is the best Cure video...but they are all so good. The puppets and Porl Thompson playing the comb...cracks me up every time. Director Tim Pope is a god. For utter silliness, one can't overlook "LoveCats" and "Let's Go to Bed." LOVE LOVE The Cure.

"I'm Afraid of Americans." Still love that song...

MK

EDIT: Yes yes YES!!! More of my faves...are you sure we didn't hang out at some point in the 1990s??

"Sabotage," and "One." Excellent choices AG...but should we expect any less?

Oh how I miss music videos... Back in the day, MTV was my after school escape. My favorite videos were the ones that told a story, and I could get lost in them.

-Guns 'n' Roses - "November Rain"
-Aerosmith - "Cryin," and "Janie's Got a Gun"
-Madonna - "Like a Prayer"
-George Michael - "Freedom"
-Metallica - "Unforgiven"
-R.E.M. - "Losing My Religion"
-Pearl Jam - "Jeremy"
-Eurythmics - "Sweet Dreams"
-Nine Inch Nails - "Closer"

OMG PIX I LOVE Sarah McLachlan but i prefer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zor1eXNC2io i guess more to relate to. Also Fallen is gorgeous. Btw if u ever heard Dear God, i disagree with the lyrics but they are deep

And the Stupid video has an allusion to a Mary Magdalene painting which i find awesome because not many people usually pay attention to the details like that.

Yeah, she probably would, but it is a nice thought. Would love to try out my Moon sign someday if it's possible.

Ok, here are some more:

Bjork - All Is Full Of Love: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjAoBKagWQA
You could probably watch any Bjork video and be awed by the artistry, but this one is definitely special.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give It Away: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7A8yM2XDaY
The second biggest hit off arguably their best album. This video has been opined to be an homage to peyote. What do you think?

The Smiths - Ask: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0IYW63CEpM
"If there's something you'd like to try, ask me I won't say no. How could I?"

Madonna - Rain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSBlPmJAo-Q
Surprise surprise, look who looks good when done up as a Capricorn.

Lo Fidelity All Stars: Battle Flag: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umFIWH5qTW8

New Order - True Faith: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcunLqxHDWU
I'm suddenly reminded of the Super Bowl.

Just as an aside...
The song 'Dear God' is written and performed originally by a band called War.
It's on her B-sides album, where she also redoes and incredible version of Joni Mitchell's Blue.

I Agree.. LOVE that song! She does a wonderful job!

Ok, fine... now which one should I choose to let download for two or three hours so I can reverse it and watch it around 5pm??? hmmm...
I think I'll have to pick an AG first, but I'm dying to see about 15 others too... yeah, all of them.
Oh, I just started to skim back thru and I'm Afraid of American's is the absolute winner. I can't go on with life without seeing THAT one!

OMFG!!!!!!!!

AG~ you are TOTALLY my hero.... before I sound like too much of a freak, let me explain...

I always see videos "on the fly". I never ever have cable or whatever (poor me, MTV generation, and no MTV) so I see videos briefly at a friends house or in a bar or whatever.
What ends up happening is that I have seen all these great videos that I don't know the band or the title of.

SO~
800 years ago I saw that video for Battle Flag..and all i remembered was the band name. Probably 2 years after seeing it, I bought "how to operate with a blown mind" but COULD NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME remember which song was the video- it had been too long..

I have literally spent YEARS trying to see that video again. TRYING to remember the name of the song. Furtively describing it to other musically inclined friends..."you know, there's a mask in the end...its a story of men doing bad bad things, and their families looking at them sadly...a hot girl drinking milk out of a bowl like a cat... anyone? anyone???"

I had given up, assuming it was just going to bother me for the rest of my life. It would have never occurred to me to use YouTube.

AG, you are my new favorite person. Thanks.
