MCM,

I totally understand where your coming from.I work in a office by myself and it totally sucks. I can't stand it. I usually work about 8 or 9 hours and it feels like FOREVER. Today I honestly thought about up and quiting. I feel so trapped by society, and everyones EXPECTATIONS. I feel like i'm wasting my life away. I have been feeling like this for a couple of months now and it keeps getting worse. But I don't know what I want to do with my life.

Anyways just wanted u to know that u understand.

samsara ~

I really enjoyed reading your thoughts about your journey -- thanks for sharing them!!

As for jobs, I don't hate mine, but neither do I love it except occasionally..... I have the requisite mental challenges at work so that I don't usually get bored, I work with a group of wonderful people, and I get the benefits I need (a profit-sharing 401k, a decent health insurance plan for me & my son). I have backup creative things I can do for income, when my son flies the coop and I have more time for myself

I LOVE my job! It is all me, but for some reason I feel it is not going to be forever and I am destined for something else.

I spent a few years figuring out what I really wanted to do for a living, in the meanwhile working in another job. Figured that I wanted to switch fields for a while and challenge myself to learn new skills. It took nearly a year to manifest my dream job. I'm glad I took the chance and pursued it. It was a big chance to take - new environment, new people, new everything. It's working out better than expected and like all jobs - it has its positives and negatives.

I tend to be a person with a good number of "work in progress" projects. The job thing is one, investments, personal development. That last one is a challenge because I am wanting to exercise certain aspects of my personality and do a better job at things like networking, and relationship building. It takes personal effort to movitate myself and initiate on things that I "normally" wouldn't do. Sometimes I feel lazy, negative, or feign boredom. At times when I think about it, the situation is similar to someone who is wanting to lose weight. You know what I mean? To lose weight, you have to eat healthier, exercise, etc. etc. And that takes discipline . . . even in the times when you'd rather do something else.
