Has anyone read this fascinating book by Graham Hancock? In this book, Hancock explains the cultures of Central/South America. They 'appear' instantly, with no archeological evidence of a precedent culture that fits within a scientific time frame. Likewise with Mesopotamia and Egypt. Both cultures built pyramids, with an intrinsic understanding of astronomy, as well as a similar deity religion of nine major characters. Of special interest to me is the Mayan calendar. Proven, but not widely known is the fact it was based on the Olmec calendar system of dots and dashes, which the author speculates is based on a much older knowledge. This calendar ends December 23rd, 2012-the end of the 'Fifth Sun Cycle'. It predicts an axis-shift of the earth, which in short, isn't good for us humans. If you've read this book and harbor sentient thoughts and disagreements, add them. IP: Logged |

FYI, Graham Hancock has a new one out called 'Supernatural'. Other books of his include:'The Sign and the Seal' (search for where the Ark of the Covenant vanished) 'Underworld' (explores underwater structures science dismisses as 'naturally occuring phenomena' Enjoy! IP: Logged |
