I haven't been around much the last couple of weeks so I don't know what's been going on around here. I really hope everyone is doing well and getting along fine. We're expecting a category 4 typhoon this evening and my husband isn't here ... doing about a week long tour of duty in Korea, atm. So it's just me, my little boy and our puppy gearing up for this storm. It's the worst one they've had in about 5 years or so I hear. I have to get off the comp immediately anyway because I still have much to get done.
Anyway, I'm not trying to start any drama pro/con military and/or families or war or anything. This is simply our life situation right now. But, if any of you are willing and have a chance to send us some positive thoughts throughout the day, I'd be very grateful. Hope to be back on soon!

Eleanore, My prayers are with you and your family. Is there somewhere you can go on Base or a shelter when the storm hits? I will pray that the storm lessens considerably in strength or stays out to sea. I am so sorry Eleanore. pidaua IP: Logged |

Praying that you and your little boy are safe and sound, Eleanore. Hope the storm weakens as it hits land so that damage is not so severe. That area has been hit really hard with storms lately from what I have heard on the news. IP: Logged |

Woo hoo! The typhoon has passed and we're fine. It was really a terrible storm and reports of damage are coming in. Lots of people still without power or water, lots of flooding, etc. Thankfully, no major damage on our end as far as I can see. I haven't checked the cars because it's still raining. We lost power for about 6.5 hrs and that was the toughest part. Our water supply is safe, though, so that's really good. There is a shelter for emergencies near our house but we didn't need to head out there, thank heavens. Hopefully, my husband will be returning this evening or tomorrow. I wish I had more time on here but I have to start moving the plants back out and rearranging the furniture, and essentially loads to do still. Thank you all so much for your kind words, positive thoughts and prayers. It really gives me a warm feeling knowing you all cared and kept us in your thoughts. I'm really grateful. PS I'll try to get back to the Lexigram forum as soon as I have a chance but I'll probably be tied up all week. Sorry again for the delays.

Yeah, HD. Saw that in the news today. Happy that you and your little boy and the puppy made it safely through the typhoon, Eleanore. Hopefully the earthquakes, they said there were two 6.5's, were no where near you. Japan is really getting blasted by Mother Nature for sure!! IP: Logged |

Oh, no, thank heavens. We're down in Okinawa, not on mainland. Everything on this side seems to be more or less back on track. My prayers are with the people on mainland where the damage appears to be worse from the typhoon and the added damage from the tremors. My prayers are also with the deceased and their loved ones.
