Last night at about 6:00p.m. CST, the Interstate 35 bridge between Minnesota and Wisconsin near Minneapolis, Minn. collapsed. At this point, 10 people have been declared dead, but many more are missing. There is no word yet as to how this happened and the focus right now is rescue and recovery. It is important to note that terrorism is not suspected at this time.

Please say some prayers or send positive energy to the family's and friends of those people who were on the bridge, and the law enforcement, rescue workers, and psychologists who are all involved. This is a horrible tragedy and very scary. Let's try to help in our own small way.

Moonie ~

Just to note that it's not the bridge between MN and Wisconsin, it's the main artery into downtown Minneapolis over the Mississippi River.....

Factoid: Interstate Highways (as in its number, I-35) run North/South if odd-numbered, and East/West if even-numbered

The one between Minnesota and Wisconsin (that sloping one over the St Croix River that means Home is Near ) is I-94.....

Thanks for posting your kind thoughts and sending energy to all those involved, Moonie

Prayers for all those who lost loved ones in this disaster and for those who have loved ones still missing.

The love is in the many people of Minnesota who rushed to help others on that bridge at the risk of their own lives and those involved in the search for victims. The stories coming out of Minnesota of the effort and heroism of people in this disaster are heart wrenching.

It is very unsafe for the divers in those waters because the current is strong there and there is all kinds of cement and steel debris in the water that poses an additional hazard to the divers.

I posted this on the other thread but will post it here as well. This guy is only 20 years old yet he risked his own life in saving the kids on the school bus and getting them to safety. He and all those who rushed to help him rescue the kids are all heros. He is very modest about it all too. Made me cry when I saw this video. Shows the goodness in people.

This whole event was very untimely and tragic. I watching two sisters who were hoping and trying to be optimistic for their mother to be found as she was still missing and well I guess you know the rest. Its like one day your expecting your loved one to come home and now this......

Yes, that is a horrible experience, DL. I watched that video too. So very sad how just one day in your life that starts out to be a normal day can turn around so fast into a tragedy.

Makes us all that much more aware of how very vulnerable our lives are in this world and makes us more aware to bless each and every day.
