so fun, seeing life through the eyes of a child...

about bread crust, overflowing with urgency and amazement ~

mama mama mama.....!!"

what are these stuff that grows on the side of the bread???

lol, bread crust, to a kid, apparently is some sort of lichen or fungus, that grows of its own volition on the sides of bread, to be removed with utmost haste and distaste....

icky icky stuff, to be sure...

hehe....the bread crust is regular bread-crust brown. we take our freshness-expired bread and feed the ducks in the park.

(but even they're not expected to eat bread crust, fresh or not, according to the 5yr old bread connoisseur.

LOL naiad So very true. Never met a kid that ate the crust.

It's all that remains of every grilled cheese sandwich and every piece of toast my grand kids eat.

They do indeed treat it like fungus.

it's the bread crust itself that my child perceives as something that grows on bread, hence my comparison of the crust to a lichen or fungus. it is regular crust on regular bread, he simply doesn't perceive that it is a normal part of bread.

there actually is no fungus or lichen on our bread. it was a simile.

naiad, that's funny as hell

Children really do say the most amazing things in their curiosity.

Now after all these years ...
I finally know, why my own three don't or rather did'nt eat the crust, LOL!

Too cute!
Thank you.
