Someone has opened the Pandora's Box! I, for one, believe that the there are so many recent scientific experiments gone bad (mad), and is one prime reason why we are faced with such monsters!Brain-Eating Amoeba Kills Arizona Boy 14-year-old Lake Havasu boy has become the sixth victim to die nationwide this year of a microscopic organism that attacks the body through the nasal cavity, quickly eating its way to the brain. Aaron Evans died Sept. 17 of Naegleria fowleri, an organism doctors said he probably picked up a week before while swimming in the balmy shallows of Lake Havasu. According to the Centers For Disease Control, Naegleria infected 23 people from 1995 to 2004. This year health officials said they've noticed a spike in cases, with six Naegleria-related cases so far -- all of them fatal. Such attacks are extremely rare, though some health officials have put their communities on high alert, telling people to stay away from warm, standing water. While this story is both creepy and frightening it made me feel heartache more than anything. Being a parent myself, I cannot even imagine the stress and depression of losing a child this way. Here was thier child out having some fun with healthy activities and this horrific event came of it. It's difficult enough to protect our children from events we can forsee but this...this is just extrodinarily odd and unheard of to the average person! My heart goes out to this family Moonie, thank you for sharing this story. I frequent hotsprings areas with my own family and this seems to be another place this could likely happen. I will watch carefully now for symptoms of the like after visits to these places. Who would have guessed? ------------------ Sendin' love your way, "your friend in spirit" IP: Logged |

I do sympathize with the grieving family, but more than that I am going nuts over the thought of what is going on or coming to our world these days? Something IS definitely wrong, and I still co-relate such fatal organisms to lab experiments gone wrong. Well......IP: Logged |

I wish we could get rid of all of the bad science in the world. I just feel science and spirit are really one. Surely there should be some sort of respect towards nature. We are disrupting the balance!IP: Logged |
