Does the rain make your body ache?
It has been raining here since yesterday and I've noticed that everytime it rains a lot my body feels like I have been beating with a stick LOL

Even my circulation has been bugging me, my legs hurt so bad when I lay down and when I am up walking my lower back hurts too, like if I was pregnant.(I'm not)

I get all the same things you mentioned when it rains.

I always felt that was osteoarthritis related.

It's raining here today and my body aches all over like the flu. My lower back hurts and my shoulders.

You know, you just reminded me, a couple years back I went to a check up and my doctor said I had signs of early osteoporosis
but it was almost nothing, she said the only thing she would suggest me doing was exercises, which I haven't done in months because I have been so stressed out with this market and my job.

sh*t!

Talk to you doctor about getting a bone density test, NAM. That's the only way you can know for sure about osteoarthritis.

I have some osteoprosis in my lower spine and my hips. Age related. It is a bit worse in my hips but they tell me it isn't too bad. I have to take Fosamax once a week to help strengthen my bones.

I also take two 600 mg. calcium tabs a day.

That aching all over when it rains could also be caused by water retention due to the humidity on rainy days. You live in Florida and I live in Michigan. Both very humid states. The price we pay for living on peninsulas.

Fluid retention will also cause body aching and muscle tension. Allergies do too.

Interesting...

I don't like doctors though, everything is just taking pills , I don't like medicine of that kind either...
I should talk to my dad , we still have herbal medicine doctors in Peru

Barometric pressure can affect Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis and Migranes etcetera. I have very dense bones but it still hurts worse when barometric changes occur.
Humidity is another factor.

Diagnosis of
Osteoarthritis:
=Bone X-Ray (Radiography)

Diagtnosis of:
Osteoporosis:
=Bone density scan

These two conditions are not the same thing!
Typically Osteoarthritis affects heavier folks
or those with injuries to bones and joints,
and is an effect of aging also.
So while being heavier can protect one from
getting Osteoporosis, it can lead to Osteoarthritis and
other weight related health troubles.

quote:
Typically Osteoporosis affects thinner folks
and is also linked to loss of estrogen after menopause.

In her book Outsmarting the Midlife Fat Cell, Debra Waterhouse says that the stubbornness of fat in menopausal women does, indeed, have to do with dwindling estrogen levels. You see, it's not just that estrogen creates fat - fat also creates estrogen. You might call it a feedback loop. This ability of fat to create estrogen (and other hormones, as well) is why women who are a little overweight are far less likely to get osteoporosis than women who are underweight. It is also a reason why serious obesity is a risk factor for hormonal disorders.

Because fat is a source of hormones, when estrogen production by the ovaries starts to drop as we approach menopause, the body hoards fat to buffer the decrease in estrogen. Waterhouse claims that women who aren't painfully thin actually have fewer menopausal symptoms than really skinny women, for this very reason.

This means that our bodies are increasingly reluctant to give up their fat cells as we advance through perimenopause, and apparently supplemental estrogen doesn't encourage them to let go - it just increases fat deposition and holds water, just like it does during our menstrual cycles (or, for that matter, in farm animals fed synthetic estrogens to fatten them.)http://www.lowcarbohydrate.net/httblog/archives/000079.html

NAM Florida and Georgia have such high humidity and pollen and mold spores I feel as if I am suffocating most days I have been there.
Have an allergist test you and take the desensitizing shots and antihistamines. Or move I guess. I sympathize being allergic to grass, trees, molds, etcetera. I feel like I have an almost constant cold.

I went through the series of desensitizing shots when I was 25 after ending up in the ER one too many times. They did not totally eradicate the allergies but I can tolerate them now with simply antihistamines most days since then.
If you are not having severe breathing troubles and lips turning blue, or giant hives...I would say just take the antihistamines during peak mold and pollen index days. Try to find out what sets them off too.(your allergies)

It's the mold spores in Michigan that I'm allergic to. Any place where you have a lot of trees and grassy areas you will have mold spores. Michigan is 50% forest.

I get sinus related headaches, sneezing frequently, nose bleeds, dizziness and body aches which are worse in the Spring and Fall when mold spores are at their highest. Also after rains.

You know, more and more it is sounding like you have developed an allergy problem, NAM.

True that you can only detect osteoporosis with a bone density scan. That is a painless procedure. You just lie on a table and they run an x-ray type machine up and down your body.

Arthritis does not only come with age or bone injuries. There are different types of arthritis and they can happen at any age. There is even juvenile arthritis. My youngest son is 35 and he suffers from Gout which is a form of arthritis that my dad also had so it is genetic in origin. He has had no bone injury in the areas of his legs that are affected by Gout. His doctor told him it is most likely genetic since his grand father suffered from Gout and it tends to be genetic.

If you have arthritis and osteoporosis you can't say for certain it is osteoarthritis but the probability is pretty good that it is. At least that is what my doctor told me about the arthritis in my shoulders, arms and my hands. It is causing some deformity in my hands in the knuckles.

Also you can develop osteoprosis before the change of life due to lack of sufficient calcium. So it is not just estrogen related. Not all post-menopausal women develop osteoporosis. So lack of estrogen is not really a factor since the female body produces a certain amount of estrogen naturally which is not produced by just the ovaries. Nor is it due to lack of exercise. I excercised most of my life. The specialist determined that my osteoporosis is due to calcium deficiency growing up. But still it is mild for my age.

Thank you for sharing, I hate going to the doctor though, I seem to think I have the power to cure myself just by wanting to LOL
Foolish? yes maybe, probably because I have been lucky enough to not have any major issues come up in my life, I am not even concern with this one, but I do know that when I exercise I feel a lot better and I don't get any strange pains...
I have been way too lazy lately and finding comfort only on my books.I have been avoiding many things like taking care of my physical self, but I think is well worth it because I have been taking care of my spiritual self, I guess it is time for balance

Balance is very good

I hate going to doctors too but I do believe in preventative care.

There are many things that be corrected or cured if caught in time.

Mostly with my allergies I just suffer through them. The only thing they can do is treat the symptoms with medication and most of that medication makes you tired and drowsy all the time. The non-drowsy stuff does the same thing to me.
