We had a 5.6 earthquake last night.

I didn't feel it because I am on hard rock.

I bet AG felt it, as he is very close to it.

Thanks! Actually, I just remembered that my mother's TV in her bedroom became static and full of wavy lines. Then it cleared, and then we found out there was an earthquake.

Will be interested to see if other locals felt it? There have been dozens of aftershocks.

I was at Improv class, and apparently we were setting the stage up. I didn't feel a thing. Only the people sitting down felt it.

My girlfriend felt it as well at her house.

See, different places send out different feelings for me. Local ones in Lake Erie feel like a rumble drop thump. Ones on the other side of the planet feel like a a long deep roll and then drop bump thud, or add a heavy leaden shuddering.
It is hard to describe, it is a feeling.
California is usually a roller and a shudder shudder, and hope it never does a drop thump! Or feel like falling and bumping planks.

The Epicenter was right here in San Jose,
right as I unlocked the door to my house, it happened. It was crazy! I heard things fall to the floor in my house...the whole house shook and car alarms went off.

The earthquake occured about 8:04 -ish pm You can check my links.

My hand crank emergency radio arrived yesterday, the day after the earthquake.

It also came with a short wave mini radio (free) and I got New Zealand on it yesterday. I also got a couple of spanish stations, (don't know what country, could be many), and several religious stations on the short wave.

You get a free Mini World 100 with it, that has short wave radio (the FR 300 doesn't have short wave). You also get free ground shipping, and would you believe I received it in like 4 days max.

So far I like it. It gets many radio stations, TV stations, a weather station, has an alarm, and a red flasher and a flashlight (not very strong flashlight, but better than nothing). I paid extra $10 for an AC adaptor; so I charged it by that, so the batteries are fully charged. So if there is a power outage, then I can just crank it to re-charge it.

It also came with several adaptors for cell phones; my cell phone is old, so it won't work for mine, but other people's would.

Let me know what countries you get on the short wave mini 100 radio. I think I mentioned before I got New Zealand. Then I got like 4 religious stations but I have no idea where they are from. Couple of spanish speaking places - those could be in US or South America.

Also you can turn your TV on and see what stations you get - I got 2, 4, 5, and 7, which are local broadcast stations......I did get other TV stations in between, but I have no idea what they are.

Will you believe I still have my radio on the kitchen table, I haven't had time to put it away yet.

I can't remember what day ours was, but I think it was about three weeks ago. I was feeling aftershocks even when all the people around me weren't... I was at a cafe with Mr Gemini and I kept insisting there was another earthquake happening, but no one else noticed and he seemed to think there was nothing going on. But I checked the GeoNet website later that day, and an aftershock was recorded at that exact time. I was feeling little rumbles all day. Apparently we were supposed to get dozens of aftershocks in the following weeks but I haven't felt any more. It's all been coming from the West Coast and we were feeling it all the way over here on the East Coast. Spooky.
