Heya Fayte! Don't sweat it! You don't know me, but I know YOU! Great advice and contributions abound! (Very nice poetry, as well!)

So, thanks for the shout out! And please let me say...really and truly...my thing is that I want everyone to know that their contributions matter. So, I opened my big mouth and said something, that's all. I wasn't trying to be a downer or get attention or anything. I just have a thing about rooting for the "underdog"! lol

It WAS a straight up award that I gave to you, HSC. I meant it. I don't kiss up to people and put on phoney acts. Never did and never will. I have to be just myself. That way when people like or love me I know it is for who I really am, not some phoney image I am trying to project to people. If they don't like me as I am then that's okay too. Because I like me.

I have put less awards on this thread because I am giving thought to it and it has to be real and how I really see the person. That is how I always saw you, as a thinker. So no way would I poke fun about something as meaningful as that is to me. It's a compliment because about 80% of the people on this planet don't think anywhere as deep as you do about anything. I truthfully have always liked that quality in you and find that an admirable and wonderful quality in anyone.

So it hurts that you took the joke picture the way you did when it was really just something I saw that I thought was funny and the award I gave to you was honest and real. I meant it.

I think I deserve the award for being The Most Often Misjudged and Misunderstood person at LL. I know that I can share that award with you, HSC. So you should know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of that.

This thread was great for giving people affirmation, AG. Affirmation is always nice when we get it. Although it shouldn't be something we are willing to compromise who we really are to get or we shouldn't have to seek it in others if we affirm ourselves. But it's nice to let others know the good qualities you see in them if it is sincere. You deserve the Thanks For Just Being You award, AG because you are a sweetheart and the greatest.

BR,

I just want to say that on two threads now you have given me wonderful gifts. I asked Lisa to tell you how I felt about what you said on the Free Will thread but she forgot. I didn't want to embarass you by telling you on that thread and I didn't have your email address. You stated that something I said you found meaningful and it helped you in some way. For all the opinions and thoughts we toss out there if you in some way help or touch just one person it has made your life meaningful. Mostly we will never know in this life who we may have helped or touched in someway. That you said that and let me know I can now die a happy person. That is the most wonderful gift you can give another human being. Also, the Integrity award you gave me on this thread meant a lot to me. I have always held high values that I live by. That you noticed that made me feel very good. Thanks again.

You are much, much more to me than just having a wonderful sense of humor that always makes me laugh or smile. You are a warm, sincere, honest, compassionate man and I think you are great. The world could use about million more just like you.

I think everyone here at LL is great in their own unique way but I am just not a sucky face type of person.

Dulce Luna I forgot you, sorry, don't know how I could have because I always love reading your posts. You are wise and honest.

Pix I missed too and I love her sense of humor too and her all around sweetness.

Wow! Glad to see this thread take off.

LTT, UnMoved and HSC ...

I guess I'll be shameless and say that it is nice, every now and again, to hear that others have positive opinions about me. But it's even nicer to see this outpouring of graciousness in our community. I do hope no one is offended if they've been missed. All the contributions here are appreciated and LL is what we all make it everyday ... and I do think Linda herself would be proud.

YAY!!!
Thank you, BR.
Your opinion of me carries
a special weight, for some reason.

Very cool of you, Solane. Thank you.
I wish I did have the biggest, deepest heart.
Maybe you are seeing my potential (hope! hope!).
Maybe its that Piscean gift of seeing people's higher selves.
Love and Blessings to you.
You bring a lot of wisdom and enthusiasm,
and it is appreciated.

Mirandee,

Sure, I know you wouldnt be aware of it, if it was unconscious, but, often, when someone draws our attention to something unconscious, we become conscious of it. The two people I talked to about this both said my reaction was not at all unpredictable, and that they would have anticipated how the second pic might be taken, and, either would have waited to post the second pic, or, would have made it very clear that it was unrelated to me. In my position, they probably would not have directly confronted you about it; they would have just kept their suspicions to themselves. I like to get things out in the open. Even if its momentarily uncomfortable, I think its a good policy, and, besides, its just my way. I think, if you had considered how it might look to me (someone who has had conflicts with you in the past, and expressed a difficulty in trusting you), you would have seen exactly what I saw. And I think most people here, whether they are aware of our past conflicts or not, probably saw it too. Now I know you are going to say something about how you dont dwell in the past, and thats great. I dont mean to dwell, but I intend to learn from my past. Perhaps, if we find ourselves so frequently misunderstood, we both need to make a genuine effort to be conscious of, or to consider, how our words and posts may be taken? We can make the effort together.

Hi Fayte! You are most welcome. I think this thread was a really nice idea. The only "problem" as I see it is that we are bound to forget someone and then, since I think most of us are pretty sensitive people, feel bad about it! lol I can't help but laugh a little about the irony there...

As for my name...
Purple = ALWAYS been my favorite color
Chick = Well, I'm a chick! (Not just a female, a chick. lol)
71 = year of my birth

That's just sooooooo creative, no? lol I'm a simple girl at heart, I guess!

[HSC] Just a little note on Mirandee's behalf:

She did post your award on the 2nd page, which is really early in the award giving process (no one started giving awards until the very end of the first page), so you were on her mind right off the bat. I would consider that a good thing.

Also, I didn't read the second picture as a dig on you at all. Of all the things you think about I would think constipation would be very low on your list. What I did see that picture as... was a picture she probably happened across while looking for a picture of the Thinker.

The "Phoenix" Award is not one I give lightly. It is not like a crown or because I like someone even. It is for folks who in my opinion have been through more hardship than most could endure, and may still be going through things that would break most people. They have survived and grew spiritually afterwards and continue to grow. It is for folks who are not stuck in the box nor complacent. It is also for folks who are truly honest and have never practiced any form of oneupmanship. It is for folks who have integrity and think before they speak. It is for folks who know themselves. For folks not bitter at life or as bitter as others could be under similar circumstances. It is for folks who have never told me any white lies just to spare my feelings, I detest lies of any kind. It is for folks who being of another ilk would be emotional vampires or co-dependent, or emotional manipulators, but instead have risen above all that. It is folks I truly admire and have learned much from. It is for folks who I have not seen try to force their views on me or others. It is for folks who march to a different drummer, who are not afraid to be different, or ashamed of themselves for any
physical problems. It is for those who I feel will age gracefully and never suffer hardening of the categories. Always retaining some aspect of gentle childlike sweetness. All these things may or may not be present in one who receives a "Phoenix" Award , but they all have many of these traits in my opinion.
As I get to know you and others better you and many more may be eligible! More may well deserve it but I do not know them well enough yet to make such a decision. Or have missed their story or have not heard it in some time and my apologies, have forgotten.

PS. I will say from what I know of you, you at least qualify for the "The Phoenix In The Making" and/or the "Eagle" Award.
I shall think on who else I feel deserves those and post in awhile.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

You are right, AG. I did find that picture while looking for the picture of the thinker for HSC. Very perceptive.

However, although I just thought the picture was funny and was joking, I hurt HSC and for that I am sorry.

HSC, I understand. You probably would have laughed at that picture any other time so my timing for posting it was not good.

It was kind of thoughtless of me in not even thinking that you might take it the wrong way. I'm sorry.

So I am adding you to the list of Phoenix's on this thread.

Okay Fayte...posted some on your thread and in FFA! *sweating*

On a side note...
HSC, if it's any consolation, when I read that part of the thread I didn't think the constipated thinker was related in any way to the post about you, because it was a separate post. It seemed, like has been mentioned, like an after thought and in response to someone saying Mirandee has a cheeky sense of humor. (Which I agree with because I thought it was a funny pic.)

The Phoenix Award, I feel is something that everyone at LL should be awarded.

Who here, at LL has not suffered in their lives and have held on, risen above it and are seeking to become more spiritual people?

Just from what I have read on the forums I would say the Phoenix belongs to everyone because there is not one person on this planet who has not suffered in the past and are still suffering yet go on and attempt to overcome those things.

It's definitely one award here on this thread that should not be given to a select few for any one person to judge who deserves it and who doesn't. Not when there is not one person here at LL who has not suffered in their life and still are suffering. And yet have risen above it and not let it destroy them.

Who are we to determine who deserves an award like that when we don't know the lives of each other except for what they may mention to friends in private? Not everyone pours out their suffering from their lives on the boards of LL.

From her posts here at LL since she has been a Knowflake, Dervish most definity deserves a Phoenix award.

NAM from what you have talked about you deserve the Phoenix woman picture and the award as well.
