OK, Not to sound disrespectful in any way or form but the title of this post implies that there is a poem to be read???

"Poem Written By Teenager Dying Of Cancer"

The content of this post has neither a poem nor a link to one

Is this an oops???
(or) am I missing something???

Are you in need of a hug right now?
I've got one, several in fact!
*Just say the word...

Ok Here it is.......

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Do you run through each day

On the fly?

When you ask How are you?

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done

!

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You'd better slow down

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Ever told your child,

We'll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste,

Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time

To call and say,"Hi"

You'd better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there

When you worry and hurry through your day,

It is like an unopened gift....

Thrown away.

Life is not a race.

Do take it slower

Hear the music

Before the song is over.

Very very good advice!

Beautiful...

yet, sorrowful.

Wow! *tears

My heart really feels for families having to experience these challenges, fears, and uncertainties brought on by illnesses such a as this.

Thank you so much for sharing this poem with us!!!

Beautiful and wise thoughts.

Sad that it was written by someone so young who was dying of cancer. But whoever wrote it left a gift behind for others who read these words.

I know I am guilty of some of what is spoken here and this gives me much to think about.

Thanks for posting this reminder to all of us, sinderlou.

Thank you for sharing thsi poem very much.

My mantra right now, is this:

Breathe in peace,
Breathe out a smile
I am grateful for this moment.

You are such an amazing spirit, gg.

This picture resembles you, I thought.
Not just your appearance, but your essence as well~
