We project our strengths

"Any situation that you find yourself in, is an outward reflection of your inner state of beingness."

-- El Morya

We have discussed that OUR WORLD MIRRORS WHO WE ARE BACK TO US. When we get upset by something outside of us, our reaction shows us that we have an inner wound to be healed.

Just as we can be unconscious of our wounds, we can also be unconscious of our strengths. If you are really drawn to the positive qualities in another person, you are being invited to own those same qualities in yourself.

"The people we are in relationship with are always a mirror, reflecting our own beliefs, and simultaneously we are mirrors reflecting their beliefs. So relationship is one of the most powerful tools for growth... if we look honestly at our relationships we can see so much about how we have created them."

-- Shakti Gawain

"Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures."

-- Henry Ward Beecher

Can I play devils advocate here? I don't actually agree with what Shakti Gwain and El Morya say here in these quotes:

"Any situation that you find yourself in, is an outward reflection of your inner state of beingness."

" When we get upset by something outside of us, our reaction shows us that we have an inner wound to be healed."

I really don't think that always applies. Not everything outside of ourselves that happens is a reflection of our own mirror or beingness and somethings that happen that cause a certain reaction does not mean we have an inner wound to be healed.

Sometimes our reaction is appropriate to what transpires outside of ourselves. I seriously feel that having that way of thinking may cause people to always blame themselves for whatever happens. Truth is it is not always us or our inner wound. Someone else may be working out their own inner wounds on us or the world in general.

Our reaction to world events such as war and torture or to other evils in our society, may be a good mirror of who we are if we react adversely to those types of things. For that reason our adverse reaction to those things does not reflect an inner wound on our part. It would be reasonable and logical, not to mention spiritually healthy to react in an adverse way to those things wouldn't it?

hey mirandee.. you make GREAT points. i think about this allll the time.. and the best i've come up with, it is both true and not true. it is true in that we are all ONE.. but you are right that we cannot blame ourselves, etc. it is the pisces conundrum, pretty much!
