You must first learn english before you can learn english eloquence.

He who would learn to fly one day
must first learn to stand and walk
and run and climb and dance;
one cannot fly into flying.
~ Friedrich Nietzsche

You are not ready for this,
and, when you are ready,
you will find that it cannot be taught.
If you have a taste for it,
you will imbibe it easily enough.

But thank you for the compliment.

And HSC I think perhaps you are not ready to learn about enlightened ones and the way they communicate.

I have learnt the higher truths and don't need to learn the lower truths.

I edited to add the quote,
and to clarify my comments.
I changed nothing essential,
and made no insults.

I only added to it, and removed nothing.

I didnt know you would read it within 60 seconds of my posting it,
or that you would take offense at my clarifications.

You brought up the whole spirituality thing,
just to claim superiority in that regard.

As for my superiority in english,
it is you who first claimed it and brought it up.

Nevermind.

I was watching this movie 'Pink Panther' and how Steve Martin, a french person visiting NYC was struggling to say 'hamburger'. Even in those idiotic moments the cosmos has a plan for his promotion.

Well you will say its a movie not real. What is real then ? LOL

Preaching is always easier than making practical attempts!

Come on everyone, co-exist and grow together.

Sattvic,

Words are deeds.
And to speak well is to perform a good deed.
The words of the ancients inspire wisdom and devotion,
yet we have never seen them perform a single action.

"To speak, and to speak well are two things.
A fool may talk, but a wise man speaks."
~ Ben Johnson

When a wise man speaks, he preaches;
as a bird sings, he preaches;
not for any other reason,
than to express the song in his heart.

"The perfection of a person,
is the beauty of his words."
~ Hacý Bektash-i Veli
(Turkish Philosopher and Dervish)

Can I say Amen even if I don't belong to a church?

Well, HSC, Mannu and everyone else. I spoke from my experience, there are times when emotions can make us astray (for various reasons obviously), and no, it is not wrong either. Such situations helps us to evaluate our course. Moreover, it always takes another few people to help because the emotions do cloud our intellect.

Well said Sattvic. We are all so lucky to have each other
to remind one another
of these things here and there.

NAM
The word “Amen” (Hebrew: אָמֵן , Arabic: آمين ) is found in three religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It is usually uttered at the end of a prayer to confirm what has been said before, meaning therefore “so be it”, “truly”, “let it be so”. But what is its origin, linguistically speaking? http://www.kabylia.info/observer/spip.php?article94
(the above is how I perceive the word)

O.E., from L.L. amen, from Gk. amen, from Heb., "truth," used adverbially as an expression of agreement (e.g. Deut. xxvii.26, I Kings i.36; cf. Mod.Eng. verily, surely, absolutely in the same sense), from Sem. root a-m-n "to be trustworthy, confirm, support." Used in O.E. only at the end of Gospels, otherwise translated as Soðlic! or Swa hit ys, or Sy!. As an expression of concurrence after prayers, it is recorded from c.1230. http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?l=a&p=11

Amen is a derivative from the Hebrew verb aman "to strengthen" or "Confirm". http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/01407b.htm

Peri,
Thank you. I agree with that statement.

HSC and I were just playing with our masks of humanity put on.

I don't think the fight will become ugly.
So chill.

HSC you are not serious about your honour at stake are you?

Fayte, That movie sounds interesting. Will add to my must watch movie list.

Mannu/HSC, I just wanted to stop in to tell you that your presence is always a spark!

------------------
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year....
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep. ~Robert Frost
