sitting here listening to Enya so captivating and authentic... It has been along time since I put her cds on!Enya - Book Of Days http://youtube.com/watch?v=0dI_HyRnN8c Enya - Caribbean Blue http://youtube.com/watch?v=0dI_HyRnN8c Enya - Only Time http://youtube.com/watch?v=1NNLzheTxCA ------------------ Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year.... The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. ~Robert Frost IP: Logged |

One day, one night, one moment, My dreams could be, tomorrow. One step, one fall, one falter, East or west, over earth or by ocean. One way to be my journey, This way could be my book of days.
No day, no night, no moment, Can hold me back from trying. I'll flag, I'll fall, I'll falter, I'll find my day may be, Far and away, Far and away.
One day, one night, one moment, With a dream to believe in. One step, one fall, one falter, And a new earth across a wide ocean. This way became my journey, This day ends together, Far and away. This day ends together, Far and away. Far and away. ------------------ Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year.... The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. ~Robert Frost

Enya's siblings are not too shabby Clannad Their 'Anam' album made the top 20 in 1990. 'Theme From Harry's Game' featured on the 1992 film Patriot Games, featuring Harrison Ford, raising the band's profile again in America. The band's music was increasingly in demand for soundtrack work, appearing on Last Of The Mohicans, (1992) and Message In A Bottle (1999).

Khaine ~Too bad your link is mp3's If they were .wav or .flac or similar uncompressed format I would be tempted -- but .mp3 loses a lot in translation..... IP: Logged |

.. about mp3 file format .. ~ http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/S-btaxo7qavf9/learningcenter/home/mp3.html ~ ~ http://www.mpeg.org/MPEG/audio/askmp3.com.html ~ ~ http://www.digital-audio.net/technical.shtml ~ ~ http://www.digital-audio.net/technical_enc.shtml ~one way to test the sound quality of a format is to turn up the playback volume .. mp3s sound worse when the volume is turned up .. i.e. depending on the bit-rate out of curiosity .. anyone know what the audio bit rate is on the 'youtube' videos ?? ( i can't watch them here due to current software issues ) IP: Logged |

Thanks HD!!"The MP3 codec shrinks the source file by removing portions of the original signal considered to be essentially inaudible — a technique know as "perceptual coding." MP3 and other codecs are lossy formats of compression. That is, some frequencies are lost in the encoding process, and can't be restored by reconverting the file to its original format." Re: youtube ~ "When you upload a video to YouTube, it is transcoded (decoded to raw video, then re-encoded) into Flash Video (FLV) format. The video frame size is scaled to no larger than 320x240. I haven't been able to tell exactly what the rates are, but the frame rate appears to be between 25 and 30 frames per second, and the video data rate appears to be somewhere around 200 Kilobits (kbps) per second. Audio is reduced to mono and transcoded to a lower bit rate. This transcoding is what's going on in between the time you complete your upload to YouTube, and the time that the video is finally available for viewing. 200 kpbs is an exceptionally low data rate for video. By comparison, typical DVD rates are around 8 Megabits per second (mbps), and DV video has a rate of 25 mbps. Of course, these formats have over four times as many pixels as a YouTube video. Computing the data rate on a per-pixel basis, DVD video has a data rate about 9 times greater than the FLV format used at YouTube, and DV video has a data rate nearly 28 times greater." http://blogs.chron.com/makingmovies/archives/2006/04/youtube_and_the.html Here's another one describing audio bit rate -- and also has some instructions for copying the audio only from youtube flv's..... http://www.catonmat.net/blog/how-to-extract-audio-tracks-from-youtube-videos/ IP: Logged |

Oh I dunno HD..... It's nice to have the visuals, even if the audio ain't top-notch -- Especially the precious antique archival stuff, like Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac IP: Logged |

Enya looks like she's having an attack of hysterics .. nah .. i've never been into music videos for some reason .. although i think guitar based groups look hilarious with the sound turned off .. even better .. with the radio turned on .. sometimes there's some really funny interactive tempo video-audio coincidences IP: Logged |
