i am a stay at home mom and i have decided i NEED to have music on for at least a few hours a day to zone out into. problem is i am SO tired of all my regular music, and i am looking more for something i can relax into. something uplifting without lyrics that flows and that i can have on in the backround to elevate my mood without either tripping me out or being too obvious.. and without being elevatory either!is there such a music out there? any suggestions? thanks!! I like some of these "New Age" internet radio stations here: http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/directory.cgi?genre=new%20age I loved the music they piped into the exam rooms at my acupuncturist's office, but it's hard to find tradtional Chinese music like that..... What about Enya?? IP: Logged |

If you're into rock, you might want to check out Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai or Russian Circles. (The last one is a bit on the harder side.) The one album I thought of when I read your post was "Unfolding" by Axiom of Choice. Other instrumental groups that I like: Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin (particularly his latest album), Tortoise, Grails and The Mercury Program. I would also throw in some Loreena McKennitt in this genre because her voice is more an instrument to me than the average vocals (and sometimes I have no idea what she's saying, her voice just sounds like a really cool wind instrument.) lol! this is my relaxing-music favourite .. ( except for the irritating marketing ads ) .. they have internet broadcasting .. though i've no idea what the quality is like .. ~ http://www.classicfm.co.uk ~after 02.00 am gmt it's chill-out music .. on sundays' chill-out there's often electronic compositions .. If you have a Yahoo email address, you can always tap into their Launchcast Radio which plays in a pop-up window, or download the Yahoo Jukebox to listen to - they have many genres to choose from, and if you like, you can rate the ones you love/hate. As you rate, the chances of them playing what you like get much higher - you can save your preferences in genre/artist/song/album.IP: Logged |
