and I learned a life lesson. My whole outlook on life has changed. Once, I used to think that it was so important to just go out on your own and learn as many things as possible and experience as many things as possible, and it is, but in moderation. you can't lose touch with reality because you are chasing a dream. Going off and doing things on your own because you think it's going to expand your mind or something will never be as valuable as being surrounded by people that love you and who you love. It doesn't matter how many places you go, or how much weed you smoke, or how many books you read, or how much you THINK you know, it will never be able to fill that hole in your life that can only be filled by knowing that you belong somewhere.

Everyone has to find out what is important to them in life on their own. I fell in love with a guy, and my outlook on my entire life changed, not just my love life. I appreciate my home and the people that love me so much more. Never take your family and the people that really love you for granted. They aren't something that's holding you back from growing, they are the most important thing that you could ever have in your life.

I just though that I would share that with you guys.

Awwwww, that's beautiful, Evermore. I can feel your vibes of love too. You and Pid and Bear and their love for each other make coming here to LL daily a treat. Also Solane Star. You all just give off those vibes to the rest of us.

What you said here I feel is very true too.

Just like for Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, when it comes down to it, there's no place like home and family and being surrounded with loved ones.

Well, thank you cancerrg! I'm happy for myself too. I've finally realized how self centered I've been all of this time even if it wasn't apparent to other people or myself that I was.

Mirandee, thanks. Yep, I agree. It is beautiful, lol. That Joni Mitchell song is so true when she says, "you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone." If that's what it took to open my eyes though, I'm glad that things are happening the way they are.
Dorothy had it right. I've always said that if I were in her shoes, I would have stayed in the Emerald City, but I'm not so sure of that anymore! It seems to me now that she had the right idea all along.

Sounds lovely. I may sounds like a mom, but please keep your eyes wide open, be smart, safe, and don't forget to keep on working on your own goals and developing yourself. Aka, don't quit college and become a ski bum with your boy for example. Good luck!

Haha, thanks for the advice Aphrodite. Don't worry though, I'm not that stupid and I'm not even technically with the guy anymore as he's way over in Japan. The thread wasn't really about him at all.

My goal is to live in a box under a bridge, not to be a ski bum! I will live my dreams someday!

Oh Good! Smart girl that you are. (I really am glad you got a wise head on your shoulders).

Will your cardboard box hold all your aforementioned loved ones? If this were in San Francisco, the parking cops riding around in golf carts with enormous white motorcycle helmets would have a field day with all of you!

Home is where the heart is.
Meaning:
You use this proverb to say if you are with the person or at the place you love most, it becomes your true home.

Example:
Don't worry about where you're going to live next year. Home is where the heart is.
