Peace Rosebud One of the homes I lived in as a kid had several rose bushes. I looked the above up in a gardening book to determine the name. I was hooked on this particular rose. I was fascinated with how the color changed with the age of the bloom. As a bud it had the magenta pink color on the outside and on the tips. The more it opened, the more the look blended and softened. Really cool rose. Some rose color meanings. MEANING OF ROSE COLORS I have read this somewhere and noted it for future use. Let me know if someone else have more to contribute to this list. Black Roses signify Death Coral Rose conveys desire Lavender Roses symbolize love at first sight and enchantment Orange Roses indicate enthusiasm, desire and fascination Pink (Deep) says Thank You Pink (Light) Rose conveys admiration, gentleness, grace, gladness, joy and sweetness Pink Rose (med) carry the message of happiness, gracefulness and gentleness Red Roses symbolize sincere Love, Respect, Courage & Passion Red (Dark) Rose reveals unconscious beauty Red (Single) means "I Love You" Red & White Roses together signify unity Single Rose in any color expresses simplicity and gratitude White Roses express Purity/heavenly, secrecy, silence, innocence and charm White (Bridal) Rose symbolizes a happy, pure love Yellow Roses indicate joy, gladness, friendship and "I Care" Yellow Rose with Red Tip indicates friendship falling in Love The description after the color indicates how you feel about the person to whom you are sending the rose. By the way, black does not always mean that you wish the recipient to be dead; it can also be a wish for the end of a situation, perhaps. You just can't live with the way things stand.
Full...the foliage is pretty too. Shiny and sturdy Wiki has this-->Red: love, used to say "I love you," but also stands for courage and respect. Red & White Together or White Roses with Red Edges signify unity and togetherness. Pink: symbolizes grace, sophistication and elegance. Also used to symbolize gentle feelings of love and friendship. Dark Pink: Gratefulness and appreciation. Light Pink: Admiration, sympathy White: Innocence, purity, secrecy, friendship, reverence and humility. Yellow: Often akin to joy and deep friendship or platonic love. In German speaking countries, however, they can mean jealousy and infidelity. Yellow with red tips: Friendship, falling in love Orange or Coral symbolizes enthusiasm and desire Burgundy: Beauty Blue: Mystery Further information: blue rose Green: Calm Black: used to signify death (black being the color of death) often of old habits. In a positive light it signifies rebirth after death. Also, slavish devotion (as a true black rose is impossible to produce). Purple: protection (paternal/maternal love) The rose also has various supernatural and literary attributes.Pale Colors:convey warmth and friendship. A Dozen Roses: stand for "there are dozens of ways I care about you." Two Dozen Roses: stands for the 24 hours in a day and tells that "you think about them every hour". Three Dozen Roses: signify a romantic attachment unlike any other. Four Dozen Roses: mean unchanging and unconditional love.

I like this - I bought a book on the language of flowers. Just because I like the poetry of it. I'm no gardener. IP: Logged |

The Rose- Bette Midler http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIBUaMe37B8 There is some merc in retro in this video too. It says LeeAnn Rimes on the slide but it is Bette Midler singing the song.

I want this one for Valentine's Day!! Isn't it neat. Those are not candy hearts. They are colored stones. Some more pretty arrangements of roses:
These roses are also taking my mind away from the fact it is 18 degrees outside and snowing hard again, another 4 inches expected. IP: Logged |
