It isn't the enemy.

It's the ego.

Absolutely.

The ego is much involved in deception through perception. In making an enemy out of people or situations that are not the true source of conflict.

I would say, however, that it is not the ego's fault. The ego simply reacts in a manner by which it has been conditioned. A conditioning that has occurred throughout our external environments, initial upbringing, recurring experiences, et cetera. A conditioning that we have, albeit mostly in an innocent state, allowed to happen.
There comes a moment in one's growth, though, where that innocence no longer becomes a viable excuse. It is, then, when we must acknowledge the processes of our being, take responsibility for them, and work towards becoming the archetypal artist of one's self. We must sculpt through the clay of our own life. We should become the creator and tamer of our own being, our ego.

The ego simply reacts
in the manner that it has observed,
in the manner that it has been taught.

No, it is not the ego's fault.

It is simply a lack of effort.

Exactly NosiS and in certain times, the Ego itself can have its benifitial qualities. Ego can drive a person to madness or allow a dose of personal struggle through with self-realization can become more apparent and clear. People are too quick to write ego off as a totally bad thing.

We must work to find our wholeness again.

We must, step by step, help plant seeds.

Seeds of peace.

We must learn to re-connect.

All is One.
