I went to a table tilt last night. It was in a centre that has a lot of activities in it like reiki, crystal healing and sessions with mediums etc. Basically a big community centre/hall thingy. I was absolutely blown away by it - I've never experienced anything like this before or had any contact with mediums.Let me explain for those of you who have no idea what I'm on about (ie all of youse). In the hall there was a big circle of chairs on the outside (to seat maybe 60 people). There was a little 50's style formica table in the middle with 4 chairs around. Then 4 mediums sat in those chairs with their hands resting lightly on the table. The room's cold and there's red lightbulbs in the lights (it works better in these conditions they said). Then the main medium said that it was an experiment and you could interpret it however you wanted, but the main thing was to have fun. He put on an ABBA cd (madness!) and everybody was encouraged to clap and sing loudly and generally make loads of happy noises to generate some energy. No sooner does Dancing Queen hit the second verse the table starts vibrating and swaying and the mediums are forced to get up from their chairs because it's starting to move around. It's a carpeted floor and the table on normal legs not rollers, and is gliding across the carpet. One by one the mediums are taken off and replaced by regular folk, including at one point just me, my friend Sarah, my SO, my SO's brother and a couple of other regular joes (ie nobody who might fix it). The table is spinning so fast we have to run to keep up with it and at one point I saw, as an observer in the crowd, that nobody's hands were on it at all and it was still moving. Odd odd odd. It wasn't remotely spooky though and was great fun singing like a lunatic, haven't done that for years! Eventually the table fell to pieces and we had to stop. Anyone been to similar?

Hi Lexx, it just collapsed in on itself - the legs fell off and the whole thing feel apart. It was quite a lightweight table, like a small kitchen table, spindly legs.IP: Logged |

They hold events such as this in California as well. It's generally set up during the evening hours in the midsts of a week long downtown and street psychic fair, etc.Though it's called something else???? *thinking I've not attended this particular event of the fairs myself. But have heard the excitement in the voices of friends who have. taurean_scorpion, perhaps you could google search "psychic fairs" to find a listing close to your home? In our area they are scheduled I believe, twice a year? Thank you wheelsofcheese for sharing your experience here. I'm curious what kind of energy you came away with however from that experience... As in did you feel a sense of fear, peace, etc. ??? ------------------ Sendin' love your way, "your friend in spirit"

Hi YFIS No fear, absolutely none. I felt very happy because whatever the energy was - whether it was 'spiritual' (in this instance I am using that word to denote people who have passed) or whether it was the energy of the living people in the room - it was all positive. Energy is a strange thing alright CM! Did any of you guys do a thing in high school where you would levitate a person on a chair with just your little fingers?I am not sure what I feel about it all but 'reassured' would be a good start.
