Buying my groceries today the woman at the check-out apologised right after saying: thank-you for shopping at our store. It's a new thing she has to say, apparently. I did prefer it when we were allowed to have a spontaneous conversation about our concerns of the day. This being England, that is normally the weather. Why do corporations force grown people to trot out these trite phrases? They probably pay them just above the minimum wage as it is ~ *rant over*. IP: Logged |

Nice try but Imperialism and Americanisation would be more like the average British teenage response. She felt humiliated, though, which doesn't really encourage me to want to shop in their store. IP: Logged |

don't worry blue. Just shop at your local Aldi (French) Lidl (German)or Netto (Danish) supermarket. Sanity will prevail. There the staff are permitted to hurl the shopping at you whilst screaming over their shoulder to the security guard "Hey Gary, some wanker's just shoved a pack of Bratwurst down his trackie bottoms. Sort him will ya" And then turn to you and go "I effin hate this place"IP: Logged |

That's more the thing. It used to be Kwik-Save but they are trying to go upmarket. Maybe they shouldn't ask: are you sure you want to buy this juice, it's two quid? IP: Logged |

Maybe you need to learn delivery, BR. If you tell a joke and people don't laugh, maybe you're just plain not funny.------------------ "Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia." Charles Schultz IP: Logged |

Blue,Your ORLY? diet is concerning me. You really should be careful with all that high fat content. Although, I should say that, I'm quite the fan of the ORLY? fries. ORLY? IP: Logged |

Nosis,I am glad to see you are concerned about my diet. I'll admit it is noticeably high in ORLY. Perhaps you can suggest a program to decrease my intake of ORLY? You know it's quite hard to resist a good ORLY now and then, especially when I've had a hard day at the monkey factory. Yours truly, BR IP: Logged |
