i am a sagittarian, so i should be giving the tips. but my virgo ascendant wants me to play down the ego and be sure i dont miss out on anything.

this is my first overseas trip. we will be in the far ear for 12 days. singapore, bangkok, kuala lampur, santosa island, genting highlands and pataya!

is there any tip u guys want to give me for making this trip a more rememberable experience. something specific i should see there or should eat there (vegitarian) or something that i should definitely buy from there?

somethings on my list are...
getting an oriental massage.
buying a watch
a gold ring
some clothes maybe
CHOCOLATES! u dont get the very nice ones in india.

anything else???

OMG! OMG! I AM SO EXCITED. we will be leaving on the 26th june and would travel with cox and kings.

Take an empty suitcase Ace.
Kuala Lumpur is shopping heaven. There is a market (I think it's called the Chinese) that's open till late and it's fantastic.
But beware of the taxi drivers at night. Make sure you arrange fare before you get in the cab. They can get quite aggressive.
There are lot's of shopping malls under the Towers which are fantastic with designer gear.
Have a great time. I wish I was there!

my friend who has been there did tell me about the prostitutes in thailand and malayasia. but thats not a problem cause we will be travelling around in a group of 15 organised by cox and kings. and besides i am with my parents. i do want to have one of those massages they get in the spas. when i told this to my dad he was furious! he though i was talking about one of those sensual massages!

Hi Neerav,

WOW! I just looked up the tour you're going on.

http://www.coxandkings.co.uk/TourDetails.aspx?TourCode=MAA2008&Type=Group%20Tours&Int= FE

Sounds fantastic, I am envious

My suggestion would be to travel light, and invest in quality luggage. Avoid very expensive looking luggage because they attract thieves at an airport. Lock all your passport, important documents, etc. inside your hotel room safe and make paper copies (just in case).

I hear that swimming in the ocean in Malaysia is an amazing experience! The waters are warm.

Have a wonderful time Neerav, and tell us all about it when you're back!

Warm Regards,

Aphrodite

hello aphrodite. thanks for the warm regards.

u actually saw the wrong tour. u went to the cox and kings UK website. i am in India. here is my tour itinerary...
http://www.coxandkings.com/live/products/duniyadekho/index.php?link=tour&DDtourtypeID=35&DDtourID=20&duration_id=3

my mom has a habit of taking a lot of luggage. she packs nearly 6 bags for 4 people! and now she is planning to take along some snacks as someone said that vegittarian food is scrace and expensive there! i will have to do some convincing here.

Whoa, what an itinerary!

You are going to be moving around from city to city nearly every other day . . . just remember that you have to also pack up and move all 6 suitcases (in addition to the things you buy) from town to town . . . hopefully the suitcases have wheels on them . . .

I hope you get a chance to swim in ocean and tell me how it is. I've not traveled to Asia yet, but I know I will someday.

Right now I am writing to you from the Caribbean.

Cheers,

Aphrodite

wow! u live in the carribean??? thats so awesome! we had another tour option for 15 days but they had two more places hongkong and macau and the price was Rs.20000 more than ours per head. so dad desided for this one. besides they were not taking us to the hongkong disney world. most tour packages for the places we go from other organisers like sotc were also similarly scheduled. we prefered cox and kings because since they were celebrating 250years, they were offering a huge discount, veg food and their tour cost inclued airport and visa charges.

Ace, if you're in Bangkok go and see Jim Thompson's house. He was a silk trader and his house is to die for. It's made of teak. That place really stood out for me in Bangkok.

hey wheel, we are going in a package tour so we would be travelling with our agent. but if there is sometime free i would certainly consider going there.

we just learnt that they are not going to take us on top of the patronos twin tower.

Wow! Fantastic pictures, AceNeerav. Thank you for sharing. Your trip looks like so much fun. I too, noticed the photos of Pattaya immediately - look at that clear ocean water

What was your most memorable moment on this trip?
