I'm running a virus scan to see if there's an infection.

I think it might just be cookie problem so when the scan is done, I think I'll delete cookies, broswing history and temporary internet files and reboot the computer.

After running a complete virus scan, deleting cookies, browsning history and temp internet files and rebooting my computer, I still have the problem.

But, only on LindaLand. After running through all my favorite places, the only popup windows occur here.

I sent the webmaster a nasty email but I think LindaLand has been targeted.

Greetings Randall,

Your site should not have been affected by our recent changes on our server setups.
BUT IT WAS, and that was my error, plain and simple.?

As you know, we are?attempting to solve a problem, which is, in a nutshell ...?
the various arts and beauties we share on our 710 page site are?being hacked by youtube users,?
myspace users, friendster uers, and assundrious others ... we don't know how many thousands
of websites on such social networks are now still using our server to enhance the beauty of their site pages.
We are in the process of readdressing and moving key images into their own, soon to be secure directory.
We are setting it up so that unless you have our permission to hit our images, you aren't going to be able to hit it.

I thought we did all the right things with the banner that you were serving re our site ...?
However .. even though we white-listed the linda-goodman.com domain, which means
anytime linda-goodman.com asked for the banner, it would be served up without hesitation.
Obviously .... we apparently did something wrong here, which caused the server to ask for the users password and such.
Be advised, there were no records that i know of kept by that popup window. ?We never set up the basket for it,
and .. we have no outside users who are issued passwords at this time, so that part was innocent and harmless.
No one could have "lost" their information to the dastardlies of the 'scamming' popup window.

So sorry about the inconvenience to your forum's users and any fear factor anyone chose to create on the forums.
I doubt anyone on the forum will fall for that clap-trap ... i've had too many emails with too many Linda Goodman . com folks?
to doubt their collective wisdom. ?Threats of words won't catch on with wise women, and gentle men.

As you know, we are working to power up our site with Ruby on Rails in preparation for releasing of the Book of Names on the site.
To prepare for this, we are closing down all bandwidth thieves who only steal our beauty and give no link back,?
no credit, no thank you, no mention of kindness about where they were able to procure such beautiful things, and
they are able to steal our works under cover of youtube, myspace, friendster, et al., ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

Seems "Good works on earth" are into intimidation as one of their "good works".

They could have and should have simply acknowledged they had a problem and were working on the problem, apologized for the inconvenience...and that would have been the end of it.

Instead, I got this:

We have received a threat of action against us from a supposed jwhop
We have passed this email, with full headers on and all data discovered to authority and yahoo abuse and postmasters involved.

So that one and all knows ... we had a glitch on our server, due to my error.
I found it and corrected it about 30 seconds before opening this threatening email.

One more thing, I believe we;ve already tracked this person's source of their visits, where this person is from, and who their quote unquote common complainers are.
The time of error and flaw on the site is very short ... a real window of who coujld be the one making the threat, source wise.

It's registered. These folks have no clue, yet they threaten us ?
Wow Mom!

As you can see, the THREATENER is the TO: on this reply.
All notice we are making is bcc to protect the emails.
Also, the db admin has informed me of how they are putting together who this threatener is, in phsyical, for the authority, if we are threatened again.

As it was, I spent more than an hour trying to clear their crap off my computer, not to mention the annoyance of having to click off their pup-up which appeared on every page and locked my computer until I did so. So, I had every right to be pi$$ed and I was pi$$ed.

Intimidation doesn't work with me.
