similar scams circulated the uk via snailmail a few years back .. all traced back to a couple of west african countries .. can't remember how the scams actually worked .. i think ppl were harassed to part with dosh in order to complete the release of funds .. obviously there were no funds to transfer in the first place .. some folks took the bait and lost a few g's all in all ..IP: Logged |

So I wonder if they do not ask for any money or personal numbers and are willing to work it out through my attorney...then maybe it would be worth a look? Yeah the Asian and African ones do look like scams. And last I knew Microsoft is not handing money out to folks. Well I would love to get millions but would be super deliriously happy with a low rate loan for about 50 grand. Twice that for a loan would be ecstasy! I guess they hope people really needing a leg up will be idiots and take the bait. Its really quite cruel to tease folks with such pipe dreams.

The one I got asked for money to redeem the money as some sort of transaction fee. Also, luckily, I know lottery laws. The lottery here is untaxed, no money is asked of you and you have to enter to win.Yeah, mine was from the UK. IP: Logged |

ooo don't you hate those emails!?!I get them a lot. Sometimes they say that I won some kind of lottery in London, or that they pulled my email up randomly, or such and such from Africa needs to transfer funds to me for whatever reason. They get your basic info at first and after a few emails they eventually ask for a bank account number. I also get these emails on myspace from different men saying they found my profile and are instantly in love with me.. blah blah blah.. but they all have the same story. They are from some other country, their wife and or kids are deceased, they are an engineer...etc.. Someone told me they eventually ask for a bank account number.
Or their emails say that they are a distant relative of BillyBob (fill in your last name here). They say that you have inhearited a certain amount of money.. again, later asking for your bank account number.
"A fool and his money are soon parted" Annoying emails...nothing the delete button won't fix lol. ------------------ Make new friends But keep the old One is silver and the other's gold IP: Logged |

One of my favorite spam emails (I wish I had saved it) was from a "woman" in "Russia" who wanted to give me her millions as she was dying from cancer..... she wrote that since she knew I was a godly Christian person that she could die happy knowing her money would be put to good use Now how would she know how godly or Christian I am?? Here's a recent one I got ... which I found rahter funny. quote:
SOMEONE YOU CALL YOUR FRIEND, WANTS YOU DEAD. I felt very sorry and bad for you, that your life is going to end like this if you don't comply, i was paid to eliminate you and I have to do it within 10 days. Someone you call your friend wants you dead by all means, and the person have spent a lot of money on this, the person also came to us and told us that he wants you dead and he provided us your names, photograph and other necessary information we needed about you. If you are in doubt with this I will send you your name and where you are residing in my next mail. Meanwhile, I have sent my boys to track you down and they have carried out the necessary investigation needed for the operation, but I ordered them to stop for a while and not to strike immediately because I just felt something good and sympathetic about you. I decided to contact you first and know why somebody will want you dead by all means. Right now my men are monitoring you, their eyes are on you, and even the place you think is safer for you to hide might not be. Now do you want to LIVE OR DIE? It is up to you. Get back to me now if you are ready to enter deal with me, I mean life trade, who knows, and I might just spear your life, $8,000 is all you need to spend. You will first of all pay $3,000 then I will send the tape of the person that want you dead to you and when the tape gets to you, you will pay the remaining $5,000. If you are not ready for my help, then I will have no choice but to carry on the assignment after all I have already being paid before now. Warning: do not think of contacting the police or even tell anyone because I will extend it to any member of your family since you are aware that somebody want you dead, and the person knows some members of your family as well. For your own good I will advise you not to go out once is 7pm until I make out time to see you and give you the tape of my discussion with the person who want you dead then you can use it to take any legal action. Good luck as I await your reply to this e-mail contact: b.patbulle2121@gmail.com Mr.Celestine chuks

That's actually more than just spam, that's the kind of email that the authorities would really trace and find because it's bribery and real threat on your life, not just perception, and it's extorsion. My God! I've never seen one like that before. They're actually threatening you and black mailing you into giving them money. I hope someone really does turn them in.IP: Logged |
