Hi guys

What decade do you think of, often? I mean which one sticks in your mind?
For me, it would be the 90s. I grew up ( and I think most people will think of the decade they grew up in)in it. The 90s was a world onto its own
I miss it, hehe.

1966 to 1976!
Things changed so much then from the blase 1950s!
Yeah the days before satellites and cell phones.
Snail mail pen pals.
Moon landing.
The world now is drastically different. In many great new ways, but in others not nice at all.
The countrysides are being ruined by developers and housing projects even in what was once lovely wilderness.
Too many people. Too much noise.

cool question fieryscales.

i've always been drawn to the sixties (before i was born). i would have loved to have worn mary quant clothes (so so me). the whole london - swinging sixties thing. everything from the stones to blind faith and clapton is god to the kinks. as austin powers says "oh, yeah! baby!". lol! i probably would have been a big groupie i'm sad to say. rofl.

Well I was a child in the 80s, and turned 14 in 1990 so I had my awakening in the 90s. At the time, I thought the 90s was very cool and hip and enjoyed it but now looking back, I think we got ripped off. Those of us born in the mid-70s - I don't think we've had a good time. Culturally and economically it was dead. There was a lot of poverty in my teen years that only now that I realise existed, especially living in an area that was highly dependent on manufacture and see all these companies close down and watch my area literally fall apart into a den of drugs, prostitution and poverty. I compare it to childhood (80s) where there was a sense of optimism in the community that kind of disappeared in the 90s.

I see the young ones today and talked to those who were older than me and they seem to have it so much better than us. For my generation, the economy I think has given a lot of lifelong damage. I think for me personally, the thing I miss about my younger days is that hope was everywhere and anything was really possible and since my saturn return (05), I feel and see the constrictions. Mind you I am Aqu with Aries AC so I was probably very idealistic.

Culturally, there's a lot 70s stuff that I really like, now as an adult. They had good music and movies etc. Still I'm so grateful to have lived through the Grunge explosion, Nirvana was riveting, I often see teens with Nirvana t-shirts and wish they were around to see the phenomenon. Now life just seems so complicated and mechanised, maybe its the coming of adulthood.

Maybe I'm just a negative winger though...
