There is an old sayingYou can't please everybody so you might just as well please yourself. Tell everyone in the nicest possible way that this is what you intend to do from now on.
You love them dearly but you will do exactly as you see fit. Here's a little story from the actor Dirk Bogarde.
He was in a film with Brigitte Bardot and he said he learned the most powerful lesson from her.
He said people were constantly at her to do things and if she didn't want to she would just look up and say "Non"
They would stand there waiting for her to clarify "No, I can't because...or no I have to do this and that first....
and she would just go back to what she was doing.
They would stand there a bit befuddled for a few moments and then sheepishly walk away. He said the power of that simple word was phenomenal.
You DON'T have to justify anything and when you stop doing it people will get the message and leave you alone.
