Hey, does anyone have any good links to relaxing music that can be listened to online? It was nice mixing my own relaxing sounds at http://www.soundsleeping.com - I also listened to the samples of their MP3's that can be downloaded for a cost, and they sound very nice. I'm wary of YouTube because so many videos there deliberately scare you when you've gotten into a relaxed state (with zombie pictures etc) - very dangerous in my opinion! Anyway, if anyone has any good links to streaming (and preferably free) relaxing music, please post them here. I need all the relaxation I can get! IP: Logged |

I would say make a Pandora station. Just use mellow bands or songs that you like.IP: Logged |

What's a Pandora station?Edit: I just googled it. Turns out due to licensing issues they no longer offer their service to people outside the US. Thanks for the suggestion though! IP: Logged |

Thanks TTB! I think what I'm getting most interested in is ambient music. Not so much from a musical standpoint, but more for the fact that it can take my mind elsewhere and relax me. And I've decided that if it's got alpha tones in it (to encourage alpha brainwaves) then all the better! IP: Logged |

Hmmm...that's interesting. I didn't know that they could detect what country you're from, and keep you from using it. If you still want to try it, you may be able to find an American proxy server (which should allow you access to it as if you were American). I sense another Google search coming on. Pandora's great by the way. I love the primary station I created. IP: Logged |

Thanks AceNeerav - that looks excellent. I'll give it a try when I'm sitting here for a bit longer. AG, I've found this with other sites too. It's a bit annoying when it happens! I really know nothing about proxy servers and things like that.

Interestingly, I experienced the same thing yesterday. I was looking at information around the U.K.'s Mercury award, which my favorite modern band won, and I tried to follow a link to a performance of theirs. The site saw that I wasn't in the U.K. and forbid me from viewing it. I tried a couple british proxy servers (with a proxy server, you go to the proxy server's website, and try to access the page you want through the proxy server; the proxy server accesses the website on your behalf, so your computer's identifying information isn't given), but it didn't work. I ended up finding my video on YouTube instead. So, I'm not confident that a proxy server would work for accessing Pandora, which is too bad, because I think you'd like it.IP: Logged |
