I don't teach him one way or the other.

He's 9 1/2 and first he asked about how he started growing in my belly. Okay okay I said I'd explain that to him after his homework.

Then he wanted to know how the world started and what there was before the world and how and where did God come from?

Geez.

I told him that people have been asking those questions since people began and some people believe different things and that some people don't believe in god and some believe in many gods or different gods.

He said "Oh I believe in god! I've seen him! I saw him in the library once and he was like a white circle of light. hmm.. I wonder when the light comes down from the clouds sometimes if it's god's flashlight."

I love my kid

I love the "God's flashlight" description!!

I got the "how did I start growing in your tummy" thing when CJ was 11. After I'd explained, he got a horrified look on his face and said QUITE dubiously, "Mom, mating is DISGUSTING!!"
(he got the "mating" thing from many many Animal Planet shows about daddy and mommy animals, and the mommies having their babies )

I didn't laugh out loud, but I was laughing to myself, "just wait about 4 years, CJ -- I bet you'll change your mind about it being disgusting".....

Awwww arent kids amazing!!!
I was hanging my washing and my two youngest boys were siting on the back step were talking about where people come from?
5 YEAR OLD: scorp/scorp/aqua
7 YEAR OLD: aqua/libra/pisces

5 YEAR OLD:did god make us?
7 YEAR OLD:no mum made us..
5 YEAR OLD:did god make mum??
7 YEAR OLD:no nanna made mum
5 YEAR OLD : (after some comtemplation) god made the first people!!
7 YEAR OLD : (after some contemplation) Mum!!! we are ALL family we all come from god...so the whole world is our family we just didnt know them yet...

Another time my 5 year old was telling the 7 year old that our bodies die but our spirit dosent..then he says
god gave us our spirit...then he smies and says..thats why he gave us our guardian angels...to look after our spirit..

I was talking to my sons teacher at school...and she holds the 'non scripture' class and she said that she lets me youngest son (the 5 year old) go to whichever class he wants on scripture day and she says he likes to go to different classes all the time..She said she feels there is no hard and fast rules when it comes to believing in god...and thats why she lets him do it..even though he shouldnt be...she also said that she feels he is quite spiritual in the way he thinks..and he has even 'lectured' her on guardian angels even though one of his scripture teachers told him they arent real..
Do they have scripture classes in Hunters school MW?

Hunter goes to a public school. He's never been to church and I don't raise him with any religious teachings. I never even talk about gods or goddesses or anything.

I told him we can talk about different beliefs when he's ready for it though

Your a great mum

Even in public school we have scripture classes...you just elect to send your children if u choose and which one you want them to attend..they are usually run by volunteers from the surrounding community..
I dont elect for my sons to go..but they can if they want to..
I never really believed in god or a higher power until reading star signs...
I did always believe though in karma and universal laws...
I always worried about what to teach and what not to teach my children with regards to spiritual matters..and i still feel that way..i just pray they be guided as i feel i was..

I always said Hunter was destined for GREAT things...have him call me anytime and we can all chat together about things if you like...and you know how I am...I'm not pushy..but if he ever has questions that you just may not know the answers to, ring me...I'm always happy to help!!

I love you both!
