Animals just like me or something. I don't get it. Hunter and I were coming in from the car and in the courtyard was a little white mouse. Actually, a biggish white mouse. I think he's probably old. He's slow but he started following us. Hunter gave him a french fry and he started eating. Well, hell. I'm surprised he's still alive. We have lots of cats around here. I knew he wouldn't survive the night and he really couldn't have been outside very long at all. I asked someone in the building if he knew if anyone in the building had white mice as pets. He didn't know.

*sigh*

So, I got the box that the hamsters originally came home in from the petstore and put him in that. Now he's very happily eating a french fry. I put some toilet paper in there for a bed for him. He really does seem of advanced age (having owned many mice and/or rats in the past) so he's not really quick or anything but he looks healthy.

Now I don't know what to do with him.

If I take him to Petsmart they'll probably destroy him or feed him to a snake. If I put him back outside he'll be dead in a couple hours. I can't put him in with the hamster, obviously.

*baffle*

*editted to add*

I guess I'll buy a little cage at Petsmart tomorrow. At least make the little thing comfy. We'll probably keep her. (yes - think it's a girl now...)

I wonder what a mouse symbolizes? I tend to believe animals bring or represent messages - especially under unusual circumstances

Mouse As a totem, mouse teaches stealth, the ability to pay attention to small details and the wisdom of remaining quiet. Mice are especially useful for learning the art of invisibility, taking care when signing contracts and dealing with issues of shyness.

From the book, Animal Spirit Guides, by Steven D Farmer, PhD. Just pick the one/s that resonate with you. You'll know.

If mouse turns up, it means:

Pay close attention to details so as not to let anything important escape your attention.

It's a time of plenty for you, yet one that requires vigilance in order to avoid any diminishment or significant losses.

You may be missing something that is obvious and right in front of you.

It's an appropriate time for closer scrutiny of all that's going on in your life and to sort out that which no longer fits.

Make a dispassionate assessment of your strengths and your limitations without judgement, and be completely honest with yourself.

You're missing an opportunity by narrowly focusing your attention on only one or two activities.

She's quite happy in the little cage I bought her She eats quite a bit, drinks well, and sleeps a lot. I think she probably has poor eyesight or may be mostly blind from the way she gets around. She doesn't use the wheel in the cage but she walks around a lot and likes her little nest in there

How cute! I'm glad she's happy and settling in.
