Eggs are a strange concept for me. I'm never completely comfortable eating an embryo. Still, I like mine deviled or over easy.IP: Logged |

I've always loved eggs. I don't love all preparation styles, but quite a few. I'm also ok with the Egg Beaters. They make for quick omelette-making.IP: Logged |

Commercial eggs are not fertilized by a rooster and therefore... NO EMBRYO!------------------ Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain. IP: Logged |

I knew commercial eggs weren't fertilized, still the proper use of the word "embryo" illuded me. I'm rife with idiocy today, some days I just shouldn't bother waking up.IP: Logged |

It took one year exactly. Portion control and no denying myself ANY FOOD! If you have cheesecake..that is your meal! If you have salad you can eat more of course. Keeping it mostly low glycemic. Coffee/tea/water/boullion broth...a full cup or glass of whatever low/no calorie when hungry..then eat your meal after about 15 minutes. Wait 20 minutes before indulging in seconds...because often you will find you really did not want seconds. Always always have breakfast! Ensure is easy to down and only 250 calories. It comes in nice flavors and chilled is best. It is not just an old folk's drink! Better than nasty SlimFast. I have now lost over 100 pounds. More to go...but slow is the best way. A pound a week max! Weigh yourself daily and chart it on a graph line. You WILL see loss gain loss gain...but you will also see the weights are going down and recognize plateaus before drops. Oh yes exercise if you can and keep hydrated..but not to water toxic levels. Yes, too much water can indeed kill! It can knock one's electrolytes out of whack. I try to exercise..mostly isometrics, often whilst in bed or sitting as being disabled seriously kiboshes exercising much. But every bit helps! Build muscle too if you can...it burns calories more. I have retained quite a bit of muscle but my problem is neurological/osteoarthritis/fibromyalgia so my body does not usually work right.

Oh yeah..never go hungry! Do not wait until you are famished! Several tiny meals are better than 1 to 3 big ones. Appetite soothers are such as...Grapes, radishes, celery(yes even with a bit of cream cheese!) strawberries and a bit of cool whip, a few tablespoons of yogurt, 1 slice any lunchmeat, eggs..1 any way you want it!...nuked apple sprinked with a bit of sugar(or non sugar) and cinnamon, peaches/nectarines the same (dip in a wee bit of Cool Whip)...And ice cream bars! One will curb hunger and will not blow your diet. The big thing is take time to enjoy every nibble of whatever you eat and eat slowly! And take a multi vitamin daily! One with minerals in it. Often diets fail because we get cravings, not for hunger but because of lacking some vitamin or mineral. Also make sure you get a little fat each day and enough protein. Too little fat will leave you mentally sluggish and bring on cravings. Too little protein and you will start eating your muscle...including heart muscle! OK...enough for now.------------------ Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain. IP: Logged |
