Okay~ last year I tried to form a website to sell my art, but failed miserably trying to do it cause I had NO REAL idea how to make a website. I tried, but it just didnt work out the way I wanted it to. I even thought someone was going to help me(willing to pay, of course) but they flaked out and was too busy. I continued to sell stuff without a website but I know for a fact, If I could just make a .com website, I could make a lot of money/be successful at what I love to do.This is driving me nuts. I am determined to make a website. I dont know HOW though. Anyone have any ideas? What should I do? are there books I can read?(that dont confuse the hell out of me) are there people you know who know how to make a freakin' site? do you? ahhh... Please, help. IP: Logged |

I really liked the Elance site. I even thought I found someone, until I tried to get the contact info, and the registration wanted my Credit card info... quote: What is this deposit? We require a one-time, FULLY REFUNDED $10 DEPOSIT to activate your account. You get it back automatically in 10 days—no strings attached
This didnt sit well with me. I will explore the yahoo one now. IP: Logged |

That's funny, I have a friend doing the same thing. He used a local community server last time, I don't know how that panned out for him, he has a big commission on at the moment though I think that might have been word of mouth. When I hook up with him I'll ask how he is getting on. He wanted me to help him, but my skills aren't really up to it. I helped a bit but only with the basic stuff. IP: Logged |

I don't want you to do anything you don't trust, but I have used Elance before. My impression is that its pretty safe.IP: Logged |

I make website for a "unnamed goverment " department right now, I'm just rebuilding all of there old websites. But its nothing big just rebuilding old HTML code with XHTML code. if your dedicated I whould find a hosting service and get a copy of Dreamweaver, you could just build it on notepad, but it whould be all code. You don't rally need a server if your just uploading it onto ther service providers server. You just need to build your page. try getting a copy of teach yoursef Sams Teach Yourself CSS in 24 Hours, you'll learn the basics but not so much Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). IP: Logged |

ws, here is a link you might find useful: http://www.isitebuild.com/build-ecommerce-web-site.htm Since you want to sell your stuff, you will need a site that allows for e-commerce. If you don't want to sell your products directly on your site, you can always list them on e-bay. IP: Logged |
