I know these are very simple acronyms, but as many of you know, I am not a native speaker of English. Could someone be so kind to explain to me what "LMAO" stands for? And what is "BDSM"? I see this one a lot when I read about sex, and I know it is associated with sex. I'm guessing the "SM" part stands for "sadomasochist", but what does the first half- "BD" stand for? Actually you're spot on. But inflicting pain (or giving the idea of pain being inflicted) is just one part of BDSM. There always is a submissive and a dominator involved. The SM part of it just indicates that even though the illusion might be that the dominator wields the power, it might not be so since the submissive could just be feeding the dominator's need for power in order to control the entire senerio in his/her favor .
