Ugh.... Yesterday was officially the worst Thanksgiving ever. Bear the Leo is now deployed and is downrange. Saying goodbye was so hard, even harder than the last time.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Zala and Xena.. thank you..

Xena.. he is Kuwait right now, I can't say where they will end up until they end up there LOL... Chances are though, he may stay where he is because of his position and rank (he needs to train others before they go to where they need to be).

Sorry to sound so cryptic.. It's just that he is now in a position that I am not really allowed to talk about.

He IM'd me earlier and said he is well, he made it there just fine.. he just isn't feeling great about the smallpox vaccine he had to take yesterday. They let him wait until Kuwait because we were trying to conceive until he left. Even with him leaving early.. well, we made the cut off for this month. Now we are just praying for the best news ever (and if this works.... we'd have a Leo like him and my dearly departed granny). Please pray for that... LOL...

Again, thank you both for responding. It means the world to both of us!

Things you're not allowed to talk about? Then I think it means they were things he wasn't allowed to talk about...

I don't think there are "family exclusive" allowances. I believe information is supposed to be kept either secret or open, because making exceptions causes leaks.

No ScorpionicWeb.. I am allowed to KNOW but I am not allowed to post what I know. That would be a violation of OPSEC. I know because I am briefed by Brigade and because of my job working for the COL of another regiment.

I am just not going to say the exact location (other than when he gets to the staging area), nor do we refer to the time he left until well after he left.

I've been doing this for a long time and this is not our first deployment, but I am happy you are looking out for the protection of our troops. As to the family exclusives.. I don't know everything. His clearance is beyond what I have and he is not allowed to tell me a quarter of what he knows and sees.

As to everyone else.. he is doing well. He should have better internet access soon and may be able to post from time to time here. You all know how it happened the last time.

Eleanore and Goatgirl... I still owe you for the support you showed not only to Bear, but to me. You rule!!!

Pid,

Nothing owed at all. I was so glad to be able to help, in a small way, and we had such fun doing it. Plus it was a good teaching experience for the children. I'll be thinking of you both that you are supported during this time, Bear comes home safely to you, and wishing with all my heart that you get the gift that you are hoping for.

Hugs to you both,
GG

Praying for you and Bear, Pidaua.

Keep wrapping him in a pink bubble of light with a hard golden exterior and ask the archangels to keep him safe.

May the Universe bless you both through this last separation.

Hi Pid!

Long time no chat. Merry Christmas!!!

Where are you spending the holiday this year? Are you flying home to Idaho? How are you? What do you do now? Are you working? Are you freezing your bum off in Germany?? Hehe. How are your 2 cats? My cat Willard says "Hi!" Please give them a hug for me.

Cheers,

Aphrodite

Aphrodite!!!

How are you? It has been too long friend!!!

I am staying here in Germany during the Holidays. I started a new job with one of the Regiments and will take time off when Bear comes home on R&R (we are going to Italy to finally take our honeymoon- 3 years later LOL).

Germany is pretty cool.. different, but cool. We live in the state of Bavaria in Grafenwoehr. People are friendly in this area and we work with alot of the local nationals. It has been cold lately LOL.. not as bad as Idaho with the 7 feet of snow LOL.. Today it is a bit cloudy, but windy and cold LOL..

I can't wait to hear back from you!!!

Hi Shawnee,

I am doing well and am happy. Thanks for asking! Congrats on your new job

I can only imagine that you had a great Xmas in Germany! (Germans do love their thick, starchy sweets at this time of year, don't they??).

Italy is truly a beautiful country. You and your hubby will love it. If I may make a suggestion, please treat yourselves to a glass of Brunello and a good rib eye steak for me if you're driving through Tuscany at Gallo Papa:

http://www.gallopapa.com/

It is a restaurant built inside a medieval stone tunnel with openings to view the countryside. The tunnel was built to protect the town. The food and service is first class.

Here is a photo of the tunnel:

What a good life you have ~ accomplished via Saggie style of course

My Virgo and I are planning to go on a diving drip in Belize in the Spring. Fun fun! We will probably take the intial certification classes here in the Bay Area and complete the dives in Belize. I am really looking forward to it and the sorely needed R&R.

I just spent Christmas in Sacramento with my mom and brother. I had purchased a foreclosed home there for them in October and spent the last 2 months gutting and remodeling it. They moved in Xmas day, LOL. The interior is gorgeous. My favorite is the kitchen with granite countertops and Mexican floor tiles. I pretty much spent my 4 day holiday driving around town picking up furniture for the house.

Love and Laughter,

Amy

Amy,

It sounds like you had a blast on Christmas! I would love to be able to gut a home and remodel it (I adore shows like flip this house or extreme makeover). What a wonderful gift you gave.

Christmas was good here. I was able to talk to Bear online and on the phone for a few hours. German's make great food, but I will say.. their sweets are not sweet enough for me. When I do get the craving I like very sweet cakes and theirs is very tasty just not sweet enough for my liking.

We will definitely look into the restaurant you recommended. Bear was stationed in Italy (Vincenza) for a little over three years and has put together a great itinerary (but left openings knowing he is married to a Sag that can get sidetracked LOL) and there are a few restaurants in Venice and Vincenza he is dying for me to check out.

I LOVE.. and I mean LOVE Ribeye!! So that recommendation means a ton to me

Thank you for the compliments.. I feel like a late bloomer that finally found what I was looking for after the age of 35.. it was Bear and the Military lifestyle (all the travel and moving) seems to go with my gypsy ways. I told my parents that at least now I have an excuse for moving every 2-3 years LOL...

Big hugs and thank you again for the recommendation.

I think the vacation you have planned with Mr. Virgo sounds romantic and adventurous. My Saggie brother LOVED Belize and wants to go back as soon as he can.

Lots of love,

Shawnee
